True to my word..... today was the day of the test ride.... Both Aussie Ninja and I went in to Fyshwick and treated ourselves to a test ride of the 07 ZX6R.... and the 06 ZX10R (again ;) )

First of all... it feels so small! And soooooo light...... Unfortunately it only had 400 km on it so the engine is far from being run in and free spooling.... I think it would be an absolute weapon on the track, it handled exceptionally well and feels great banked over....... once you get it up in the rev range it is quite responsive... but is a pig down low..... nowhere near the daily rideability of its predecessor..... but still, spool it up and off it goes!

It tips in as soon as you think about turning and then holds a serious line.... and feels soooo soooo good in the corners..........

After getting to the top of Black mountain (which was covered in crap....) we swapped bikes and I jumped on the 10..... well I had forgotten how fun that bike is.... now that the demo has a few more k's on it, and a set of micron pipes.... it gets up and let us just say that the front becomes lighter than air rapidly.... oh the power on tap from idle through to jail time...... it is great.... although a lot more work to put around the corners than the 6......

Anyway, I had a ball of a day...... You all should treat yourself to a ride :)

for a road bike.... probably the 05/06.... for the track only...... then the 07

although it would be nice to ride one that has about 5k km on it.... as that is when mine started really going well.....

although don't get me wrong it was no slouch..... just not quite as much pull....

You forgot to mention the brakes on the 6 that'll stoppie all day. Echoing Swabs comments, think about a corner and you're already at 45 degrees. The motor is definately track oriented, still tight admittedly but not much mid range to speak of. I'd give it to the 05-06 for a road bike too. But then the next time I buy a bike I plan on it having two digits in its name. Definately ride the new 6 if you can, oh that chassis. :P
