Just got back from a nice morning at the BMX track, followed by two hours in Emergency.

To cut a long story short we were doing time trials and I stacked in the rhythm section of the track (high speed bumps) and crunched my left shoulder into the next up slope.

Initially I thought it was dislocated, then it was thought to be broken collar bone - but no, I've stuffed the A C joint. I have to go into the city next week and organise authopedic surgery

Currently in a sling and a fair amount of pain (which VB is promising to cure)

my kids race against others their age on bmx's, i'm in the old farts 24" class.

The guy who runs the club is 40 and still races A-pro. His 16 year old son came 1st in the nationals last year - the 10 year olds have plenty of competition.

Ouch!

Please keep us updated on the surgery - and next time, use a bike with an engine - you can always accelerate out of trouble ;)

I was told go hard or go home - these things happen when you go hard in any racing format. Just a shame I'll miss out on the start of the State series, and so may not qualify for the Nationals towards the end of the year.
