If there weren't enough distractions on the roads already.

They have got to be kidding haven't they.
I don't agree with that Harold Scruby (spelling) bloke on many things but surely him and his pedestrian safety crusaders have got to jump on this one.
As if most twats don't have enough to distract them now, plus how hard will it make it to picks bits of crap laying on the road. As Stompy says I bet they'll paint them in the hard shiny shit so it doesn't wear off.

a while back some local councils were banning the road side floral memorials people put at the scene of accidents as they felt it was a distraction to motorists.
Now that councils can make a dollar out of it i bet they dont think its a distraction.

That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. Can't seem to recall anywhere in the world that the road is used as billboards !

The easiest way to stop them when the start is to not buy the advertised product as a protest against it. The companies will then see that this type of advertising is in fact doing their companies more damage than good.
I also deliberately dont buy products that have shit adverts - Easy Off Bam is one, mainly because they cannot pronounce 'greasy' propally, I cringe everytime!

Just emailed this to MCCofNSW who probably already are aware of it but in case they aren't am sure they'll start jumping down someones throat about it..

Umm dunno about NSW but down here in Vic i've yet to see paint with any traction capabilities used on the road with the exception of pushbike lanes, more so to differentiate them from the rest of the road though, not like a pushbike needs maximum traction on a road..
