Something you guys probably didn't know...
About a month or two after the Toowoomba vote, there was a little news article on a plan for some Jondaryan (from memory) land owners to sell bore water to city council.
Good old Burgerhuffer may not have anything to do with it, but it should be noted that he developed and still owns (as far as I am aware) a lot of land around this area...
Makes for some interesting speculation if nothing else.

The really incredible thing is, you'd think we had great water quality! Technically (and I know this as we have friends who are EHO's at Council and Qld Health) the water we get now is "safe" but it tastes like crap!
What they are going to do, is produce recycled water that is purer and cleaner, then pump it into a dam and dirty it up and send it down our taps!
Nobody with any real scientific knowledge is saying it is a bad idea...

Better than wasting it you would think so long as it is properly treated which i am sure it will be.

recycled water is a better prospect than drinking dust, cos that will be our only option if nothing is DONE.
I second RGs comment.

Shouldn't all waste water be treated anyway rather than polluting the oceans?
UK often use a thing known as a biodrier. It takes waste water, filters it and purifies it (I don't know how) and then dries the filtered sludge into oderless pellets that can be used to fertilise farm land. Is supposed to be very effective. This way you get clean water and natural fertiliser.

Yeah, it is all treated. I think the waste product gets sold to be made into fertilizer. It's just that the treatment process for producing drinking water is even better and produces cleaner water (kidney dialysis quality).

.
it does make sense...
even if the water was utilised for say..purposes other than drinking...like showering etc...or piped directly to farmers to utilise the water so they dont draw upon town water supply...
shit im not even smart..thats why they pay smart folk big $$..to come up with this shit...

Its a stupid argument.
ALL water on Earth is recycled.
Its no different than towns that dump their effluent into the river, and the next town downstream takes that water, treats it and uses it for drinking water.
