Well I finally got around to having the power commander put in and tuned on the dyno. (Thanks sis)

After a fair bit of reading around of 10's on the dyno they have been achieving anywhere from 155 to 165 in best case scenarios with similar setups to mine, so I was hoping to crack the 160 mark.

Take a look for yourself :D

According to the guy who tunes them your suppose to multiply the hp figure by the sae figure to find the true reading, something to do with the conditions it was tuned in. Maybe someone can explain that better.

As you can tell I couldn't be happier 8)

Depends what mods you have.

Sounds a little high to me but i am not sure of STD and SAE correction factors.

Powerhouse don't do before runs, apparently the bike gets too hot. I don't see how one run would make that much of a difference.

Mods: Akrapovic Slip-on and K & N Filter.

Never been a fan of Powerhouse, always seen dyno figures that are a little optimistic. Also had a experience with them.
Not doing a before run is a little weird in my book because to do a proper tune takes several runs and one more is not going to make a difference especially because you have to stop and fit the new parts before retesting.
I have always used LAE in Brisbane on my racebike, they are the shop that will be preparing Anthony Gobert ZX10R for this season.

My roadbike 05 10 made 152.8 with just a Yoshi slipon and saw a 05 10 with a Akra make 154.2.
My racebike has a bit of work and it does not make the kind of power that is shown on your dyno sheet.
Its hard to compare dynos and bikes as some chose different readouts of power(SAE vs STD), but from my experience your readout seems high.
Dont let it bother you though as long as the bike does what you want it too.
Dyno figures are just a way of boosting some peoples egos, i have betten guys on ex factory 190rwhp bikes but have also been betten by guys on 600s.
Just get out and ride, practice is what will make you faster.
I am on the Gold Coast so i can meet up with you and see the difference in our bikes if you want.

Sounds like they don't want to do a before run so as you don't see an initial optimistic power figure. Heat thing sounds like bullshit to me. If I was you I'd be tempted to put it on another dyno. Just my 2c.

Here's my 10's Dyno sheet

thats the biggest load of bollocks i have heard in my life

i the place isnt prepared to give you a before and after with a/f ratio, then i would be going elsewhere

the whole purpose of doing a b4 dyno run is so that u can compare the figures and tune the bike/ motor. u can gauge weather or not what ur doing with the tune is working (making power) or not

the actual power amount isnt of great significants as all dynos will give a different reading even the same make! but where there are usefull is if dynod on the same dyno b4 and after!

Yeah when I lookked at the torque difference between yours and his, and also looked at the Hp figures things didn't add up to me either. Just remember, HP is just torque times revs. So how can he have less hp but more torque at the same revs? Interesting. :?:
