I bought my younger two kids (11 and 10yo) inline skates for Christmas (they requested them). I presume (as I have NFI) that they must have seen them on TV as I was of the same opinion

.
My daughter (the 10yo) scoots around and around the shed with a couple of short broomsticks I set up similar to ski poles. Seems to have a ball, and at least it's exercise.

I took the kids skating in December, Cambellfield Roller Skating Rink. I had a blast. So did the kids.
They can teach you there.

Inline skates are everywhere altohugh perhaps not as prevalent as 10 years ago, roller skates, the old 2 front/2 rear wheel arrangement are antique and as stated above, thoght they had died ages ago..

Go buy yourself a Ice Hockey stick and find out where people play in-line hockey...
It's awesome fun but be prepared to get a few bruises...
