Mental Giant in a hired Ferrari - Perth

Happened Mid December, There's lots of money in West Aus due to stoopid prices for minerals (and everyone paying it)...

Brings out the best in people. I've lived here 31 years and have never seen so many top end cars - Ferraris, Porches, Mercs etc...

So this guy hires a Ferrari from a top end dealer and goes cruzin the streets of Perth...

Fills up at a pub in South Perth, then climbs in da car and shows off to the crowd, how a burn out is really done in a 'real' car...

Vision red Ferrari, reving engine, steering turned to go left and ... Traction Control is switched on...

Oh, and blows 0.2 BAC. No insurance for you...

HAAAAA Farken HAAAAAAAAAA
It's all about Karma.
Now if it were a crappy old XB falcon then that pole would not have stood a chance and he would have gotten home.

I love how the bystanders are rushing to help......... by photographing the scene and cheering the up the driver by laughing hystericaly - after all laughter is the best medicine!

I'm guessing the Ferrari is either mid or rear engined, and this really is bugger all damage. Expensive, but probably not as bad as it looks. :)

Oh its expensive all right. He hasnt just busted the plastic , check the photo showing the front. He's bent a few of the beams behind the bumper beam, and sheared through all sorts of wiring and plumbing.

Probably not a total write off but its certainly going to spend a lot of time in the shop; and hes depreciated it rather rapidly. :)

Varden will snap that up in the wreck auction!
Reminds me of a post on the old Mental Asylum forum, a bloke was riding from Adelaide to Victor Harbour when a Ferrari flew past them at warp 9, then a few minutes later the rider was waved down at Willunga hill, the ferrari had lost it and rolled the car up a dirt track. The driver was a mid-life crisis case, just brought the thing, was with his secretary and .....was pissed after sampling the wares at some winery along the route

Ya reckon? Guess as a copper you've probably seen your share of car wrecks but i'm thinking this might need a little more than some cutting compund and elbow grease :)
