Bargain of the year!

We got the bargain of the year today! (I know that we are only two days into 2007, but anyway!)
One of Jeff's workmates has a 1994 CBR600 that is in great condition, with 75,000kms on the clock. He wanted to give, that's right, GIVE, it away to a good home as he is moving and doesn't want to have to move it. The only drawback is that it doesn't start. It does fire, just won't kick over. Anyway, he knew that we were thinking about getting another bike as a commuter for Jeff and to use as a trackie. Cue the Rhonda jokes!

We will be keeping both Z's, the Z1000 will now become a weekend toy, along with it's Z750 stablemate.
So, as of Saturday, we will have a 4th bike

Hopefully the FZ1 will be sold soon so that we can afford to register this one! We will hopefully work out what is wrong with the CBR fairly quickly & cheaply, get the necessary parts from the wrecker, a new set of tyres & register it as a single seater.
So, we will throw a few snags on the barbie & get a carton of stubbies, and have a "come and have a look over the CBR and suggest what is wrong with it" BBQ for the locals, date to be advised!

As for looking over it... The badge on the tank is the obvious downfall...

Dont have much info - essentially, the bike was shipped from Canberra to Brisbane over a year ago.
Apparently, it ran fine before being shipped, but wouldnt start once it got up here. The owner states that it 'occasionally cranks over, but doesnt start'. No idea what happens if you try to bump start it.

Yep, am hoping it's one of the above, making it nice and easy to fix, and not a busted cam chain etc, making it a PITA. Don't think the owner has done much investigation, so it could be anything.
For $0 though, I didnt want to press the issue - if the owner starts to think it might be easy to fix, he might not give it away!
Jeff.

Ok, advise the date when ready.
My housemate used to have a CBR600F, one thing that I realise is that you can't really get to the spark plugs without ripping the thing apart. Then again I'm no mechanic, I'm sure there'll be someone here who knows how to fix it.
