Yes, it isn't a Kawasaki, no need to point it out

.
Rode it home in mid-30s heat in rush hour. Completely different seating position to the ZZR (as expected), you're closer to the bars and not only upright, and you're higher off the ground. Mirrors are excellent, brakes spot-on and it's an absolute farking hoot to ride, makes the ZZR appear like a barge...

The guys backed off the rear preload slightly and dropped the bike slightly through the forks. It's definitely higher than the ZZR, but it's also shitloads lighter and seems to carry the weight lower down. Not sure why, just doesn't seem to be as much of an issue this time around

.
The only problem I've had so far is backing it into the shed, but that was mainly because the floor is covered in windblown dead grass

.

The young Scot couple next door don't live there except on weekends, I could nearly get away with stealing their tank water

Good work Mick! I've always secretly liked those, and that colour is awesome!
I'm interested to know your opinion on nekkid vs farings.

Actually, not much difference at the speed I do

.
The air from the ZZR used to buffet me in the head and chest, and the faster you went the more buffeting you copped. Now it buffets me all over, and less in the chest and head.
I did a quick run up the Calder on the way home, and I can honestly say it wasn't much different. What takes getting used to is there is no bodywork in between you and the road, and with the Hornet (you were right with the name Rob) it feels like you're sitting over the front wheel.
I'm going to put a flyscreen on the bike on the weekend, mainly to keep the bugs out of the clocks. And some crash knobs...
