Can't wait till i start my new job

But Having someone ring my new employer telling them I'm useless and that the Pro group wanted to fire me is bad form. Especially doing it twice. This person who's ringing them barely knows me, but he's being told a lot of bullshit by a wanker I used to work with, who badmouthed me when i wanted to transfer to Kawasaki too. Lucky for me everyone knows he's a wanker so it's all good

My bike got knocked over, which was bad, but my boss helped me out tremendously by helping me get paid out for the damages so I could fix it the way i wanted to.

Bad form from someone who says i'm too pedantic and whinged cos they weren't making money out of my misfortune because i'm having the bike repaired myself. Same person says repairing the tank on an 8 month old bike is perfectly acceptable to them. It would Be nice to have people placed in front of dollars.

Now the really good part.

After copping grief about having my akro's fitted, I figured a nice safe easy way to get the pipes home would be to get couriers please to drop them off on thursday since i wsn't working. wrapped them in bubble wrap and placed them in the akro box.
Didn't turn up thurs, so i said to them to take them back to work as I wouldn't be there to collect them friday
Friday I ring them at 4pm asking where they are.
They went to the depot, on to the truck, back to the depot, back to the truck, then to the wrong truck, back to the depot, then back to work.
They've managed to destroy them, as soon as i saw the box I was oh no, it was squashed and open
Pipes have come out and rolled around the back of someone's truck, there's not a place on them that's not either scratched or dented. They're absolutely useless, beyond repair.

Now for the best bit.. Couriers please say that everything is carried at our risk, so therefore they're not liable for damaging them. So even though they stuffed up the delivery, and wrecked them, too bad.

If i do find that black cat I'm going to run over it for sure

i'd suggest you check the fine print, did you opt for insurance? for anything over $100 there's no way i'd go without it. Either way, god fricking damn it sucks though :-\

umm that sucks i wouldnt accept the freight if its bent and broken and am pretty fussy about what i will carry and will only do so if i am confidant it will live through the experiance.

its what you get with 5 bucks a parcel.

Where i am we charge more but it goes in one hit the courier picks it up and delivers it same day.

Although they mask things with the "Not a Common Carrier" tag, in reality, under consumer law, it is expected that "all reasonable care" be taken in performaing a task or service for a payment. If these pipes are of considerable value, then it may be worthwhile initially lodging a cheap to do small claim through small claims. Or even better, talk to a mouthpiece.

I cant believe that,
since you have recieved information on how the damage was caused, i.e. allowed to roll around the back of the truck, you should write a letter of demand claiming no due care was taken and if you dont recieve compensation, you will see them in court.

You should consider getting legal advice.....

Good luck with it Tanya, I know it's too late now, but Couriers Please are a $6 carrier.........their system works like a wagon wheel, a van picks up takes it back to the central hub, throws it into a bin for whatever destination its heading and then another van will come in and pick it up and deliver. (none of it done with to much finese) These guys get paid per carton and in most cases accept no responsibility for damages ........... it's the main reason our company no longer uses them ...

your pipes are a clear case of extreme negligence , you packed them well with wrapping, you didnt authorise them to go round the world and run over by an elephant

speak to correct authorities regarding steps to take ASAP, photos of everything as evidence

maybe speak to someone further up the foodchain and see how you go

imagine valet parking , all care no responsibility then they run your merc up a pole in the carpark

Tanya, that black cat needs to be taken out, and quickly! That really sucks about your pipes, and the company should be made to compensate you. However, depending on how tight their small print is, they may get away with it. You would think that as the courier company would have their own insurance, it wouldn't be a problem for them to compensate you, however that would mean they would have to admit liability.

AS Hoffy said, maybe a letter of demand, followed by small claims court?

i noticed today there's even a hole punched in the side of the box

we've get a lot of stuff delivered through them and there has never been a problem.. they just picked my stuff to destroy
