Well i went along to a certain 'Team' dealership that shall remain nameless

this morning to see what sort of deal i might be able to do, trading in the VFR you see..
I indicated i was interested but i would NOT be buying the first bike i rode or saw.
Well to cut a long story short i thought the way the whole process was handled to be rather 'lame' for want of a more expletive forum description.
I wanted 3 things:
1. A test ride-got that
2. A firm $$ figure for my VFR as a trade- would not give me that
3. A ride away price on an '06 10, would not give me that unless i sat down to a table and did a deal.
Did i ask for too much???
Yes i went for a test ride on the black demo one, got offered a ride on a ZX-14 from a separate sales person while chatting away.

Thats pretty lame..........
I cant be bothered dealing with people who wont give me an actual price...... I always feel they are trying to withold the price to rip me off..... You know.... the old "give with with one, while you take away with the other" trick...
In fact, I hate sales people.... They should have some sort of robot in there....
"Push here to find out price"
"Push red button to negotiate"
"push green button to purchase"

This method of trading is more common in Brisbane in both car and motorcycles, than any other capital city. I really cannot understand, how they expect you to make a purchasing decision when you are unaware of what the amount of money is that you are required to part with!! What they don't realise, is that a lot of the time when you just offer people a good deal and honest advice, they more often than not buy! Idiots!
I would go back in there, walk up to the same salesperson and do the Following.......
"OK mr./Ms. Salesperson, I am ready to make a decision if the price is right!" Allow him to offer a figure, then say that's not good enough and walk out!!!!!!!!

Fight fire with fire I say!!!!

You see if the price was right then i was very inclined to do just that, make a deal right there.
But they misquoted what i said to start with, and i'm not going to argue because i know what i said.
When i was car shopping with the wife 2 years ago we got the exact same treatment, we walked out of every dealer that treated us this way.
Stereo the robot would have been more useful i reckon.

I believe Hoffy was given the same treatment at a local team shop down here...

I have found by accident a great way to purchase....
Lets say they say they will sell it to you for $12000
You say... I have exactly $10,900 in cash....
They will say something along the lines of "blah blah blah offer a bit less"
you say ... I dont think you understand.... I really just have $10,900 IN CASH available to me ..... I am willing to spend it here... right now.... or I can keep shopping around....
You have to be prepared to walk away..........
I got about 30m away before they called me back

you dont need me trust me it would be easier if you could flash the the cash in frint of them, you just have to make sure thats the bike you want so you dont have all this cash with you,i also bought a cbr600rr last year the price was $10 990 i ended up getting it for $9 500 it was on consighnment though but still they didnt get that extra chunk of commission they would have liked.
