Went for a mid afternoon spin today starting from Hampton, via Dandenong, Emerald, Woori Yallock, Reefton, Marysville, Black Spur and home via Maroondah hwy and Wantirna. Lots of touring bikes around but not so many sportsbikes. After leaving warburton heading for Reefton, the road has been remade and had loose stones on it, especially on corners, what appeared to be wet tar (melted in the sun?) and a generally shit surface. What is the story with the council up there? Are they/Vicroads trying to kill us? Or is it a way of keeping bikes off Reefton?

What a bugger - they could at least do it in spring or autumn when the weather isn't so good....

thats exactly why they don't do it in spring or autumn

- roads gotta be *hot* so it seals properly..........it is a bugger, but the payoff is *generally* a better surface for fanging

Must have missed it
Do they sweep it off afterward - I mean the black spur surface is fantastic but this was awful - I hope they don't leave it like reefton spur road has been left for so long.
