a few questions about australia
a few questions about australia
Im just curious if these things are the same in Australia as they are in the US. For example: People are afraid to say merry christmas here in the US because it might offend some moron. The last 8 times Ive flown Ive been "randomly" selected to be searched before I boarded my plane even though Im caucasian. People of middle eastern descent/Arabs wont be stopped and checked though because that would be "racial profiling". Nevermind the fact that all the terrorists who took down the world trade building were of middle eastern descent. Its also politically incorrect to say god, not that Im religious, because again some moron might be offended. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. I could go on and on. Im really disillusioned with where my country is at and where it is headed. Ive been thinking about making a change and I was wondering if things are like this in australia. Also can anyone recommend a good small college/university, less than 5,000 students, in Australia.
Thanks
Thanks

the minorities get their goat up over the same things over here, we just dont give a flying f*** what they think
seriously tho, i get what your saying, and i dont like the way some over sensetive people are getting these day. BUT it hasn't changed the way i behave or think and it wont in the forseeable future either. i'm not a racist person, never have been, but if people cant tolerate another culture then they can just piss off to a country thatsuits their sensitive needs. i like my country just the way it is thanks...

Without entering into a debate, I'd say we are more relaxed in Australia when it comes to "inclusive" language and tolerance of the same.
The University of Notre Dame Australia is a private uni and has campuses in Fremantle (Western Australia) and now Sydney. I did my post graduate and Masters degress there and it isn't too bad

the smallish universities i can can think of here in This state (New south wales) are:
http://www.une.edu.au/
and
http://www.scu.edu.au/index.php
the last one has a few campuses around the state and they are fairly coatal locations so its handy for getting good at surfing rather than going to class...

and i'd like to add that this is for no other reason than it's the obvious thing...
If you can handle a bit of this sort of stuff then you're well on the way to fitting in.
We constantly give each other shit about being gay like Neka, or fugly like Gos, or articulate like Yappa...
