				Hi ALL,
time has come to sell the GPX250R.
Nothing wrong with the bike, has served me well and has introduced me to a hobby I wished I had taken up earlier in life. I want to update to a 600-650cc class bike and am looking around.
Reason I am stating my intentions on here is mainly to get honest advice from the been there done that riders with the knowledge of common sense.
At first I fell in love with the Yamaha YZF-R6 but feel for a good 300-600k trip it would be a real back breaker.
I also looked at a 2nd hand CBR600RR or if I can find an F model.
My riding isnt track riding, I enjoy getting out on a good 200k plus ride with mates seeing other towns etc. I must admit I dont want to goto a cruiser type bike as I want something light and not a weight burden. I also want to keep the sports bike look as I have always admired the looks of them. Another bike I looked at was the Kawasaki ER-6F,
What do you guys think about the er6f?
I looks ok, CC's, who has one and would you recommend one?
the other reason why i looked at the er-6f is that insurance for a 33 year old like me is agreeable as opposed to nearly $1200 for a cbr600rr insurance.
Honest advice only please.
Thanks
The Roc

				ZZR600, YZF600R or CBR600F
all are a little down on top end power compared to their race bred 600cc brothers, but they're still plenty quick. they're comfy, great for pillions, chew less fuel and still get up and boogie when you want a quick squirt. take each of them for a spin before you decide on anything, they all feel fairly different to each other.
i personally wouldn't bother with a ~600cc twin (SV650, ER6 etc.), but thats just me, i've had a taste for more and i'm not going that far backwards now.

if you dont mind a slight backward step in styling, there's a bright green GPX750 for sale on here *grin*.
Good stepup bike, easy to get used to, if its not already got cartridge addins to the forks that'd be the first change i recommend you get done to it.
reliable bike that'll last you many km's.

ZZR6 is a good scoot if the weight doesnt worry you it'll eat the 200k rides better then anything else you mentioned.
But personally if i was in your situation I'd go an Early 95-97 zx6r mate. More punch then the Twin with the cheap purchase, mainteneance & insurance costs.
2cs.

i wouldn't normally suggest it, but if you are tall enough and responsible enough, try out a Triumph sprint st. It is by far the most comfortable bike i have ridden.....and i hope to have one one day....
currently my ZZR600 is a fantastic bike, and don't worry about a lack of power, i kept up with the rest of KSRC a week after i got it...

Yep, ride as many as you can, it's the only way to know what suits you.

Or look at a ZX7R you don't need to rev it as hard and stepping up from a 250 was not as bad as some thought (including me).

You are talking about doing some long distances...
I recommend you test ride the following bikes:
ZX9R (comfy, plenty of power)
ZX6R (fun, bit more grunt than the R6)
CBR600F3 (very comfy, pretty quick)
CBR600F4 (great looks, still comfy, very sporty)
R6 (same same as ZX6R, but less good, but I guess a lot has to do with styling)
ER6F (Twin cylinder bikes are not for everyone, torquer, but not high revving.... a much comfier riding position though, friendly power delivery)
SV650F (to compare against the ER6F, this is suzuki's answer, with a Vtwin instead of a straight twin.)
Z-750 (If you like naked bikes ofcourse)
There are many others ofcourse.

yep, thats what i'd say.
i have ridden the er6f - check out the current amcn - i liked it but the gsr600 suzuki is a better bike IMHO.
depending on what style you like i'd also check out the z750 as stereo mentioned earlier.

Not really, the 9 is actually quite a bit larger.... but it does have 35 more ponies...
