Hi Guys,

At the brissi bike show last week i got a quote from mybike insurance underwritten by Arista.

They quoted me half the price to insure my zx-6r 03. Very tempted to go with them as 500 notes in the back pocket is great...

Has anyone heard anything about these guys or actually is insured with them. With Suncorp at the moment.

Thanks,

Martin

I was with Arista last year But they DEMANDED that i have the bike Garaged.
I declared it wasn't when i took out the policy .... <bonk>
So I shopped around & used Shannons to beat down QBE for the same price as last year with Arista. .

But i believe Arista is underwritten by a UK company called Great Lakes or something. You could do much worse imho,

do they insure young'uns? I'm 25 now but remember being told to go fuck myself to the tune of $6K when I first inquired at all the specialist motorcycle insurers. -J.

i know a guy who was insured by them.
He dropped his bike causing some minor fairing damage only.

they paid the money to repair it but when it came time to renew his insurance they would not insure him again.

not sure if that is a big deal though. as long as they cover you when you need them is all that matters.

Been around for a while so if they wre dodgy would probably be out of business by now, given the way the word gets around in motorcycling, fairly small circle.

There best policy's (I believe) are for people 40+ but think they insure young un's too, just not sre on gory details.

I had road bikes with them for years but then last year they found a new underwriter and bumped my premium up 100% so I flicked them and went to Shannons.

If they are the right price they will be fine. The broker that looks after them is a mob called IC Frith who I use at work for our workers comp and I occasionally flick them some general insurance.

I still have a dirt bike with them, but if your bike is occasional use only give Shannons a bell.

Oh so-so. If there is a way to tankslap a unicycle I will find it. Plus I now have to learn not to chase women with cucumbers. All over again.

I got a quote off them for a GSXR750, $500 and it had to be garaged, and for my son to be covered if he rides it he just has to have had his opens for 12 months and he's covered.

thanx for the feedback guys.

reckon i will go with them.. i've in my 30's :( so no worries there. A quote for a new gixxer 750 was $600 comprehensive which is very good. Not saying i'm thinking of changing from team green ;^)
