Overnight Poll!!! Tintop or two wheel it??????

Ok folks, tomorrow morning early, I have to head off to Sydney again. Now, some of you may know my mum has been a bit crook of late (pleased to report she has the all clear again now thought :D ) so I usually drive up, take a detour off the hume and drop in to see her on the way through!

Now, I have been thinking of doing somethinga bit silly. :D The bike is sorted with tyres, brakes, chains etc., and I have enough luggage carrying capacity to fit my laptop, and four business suits and associated clothing for a week away, no worries. So, should I ride up, and take the coast road home at the end of next week, or take the tin top?

Pro's- I get to ride my bike :D

Con's- It looks a bit odd turning up to a corporate meeting on a muddaboik, and if it rains it makes it a bit hard too. (However my client is a car manufacturer, so I am sure a nice turbo something or other tin top could be arranged if neccesarry!!!!)

Should he tin top it or two wheel it?????????? :D

  Rain ?? WTF is that ????

You should be pretty safe from the rain mate, its so dry up here ( no different to Mehico at the moment I s'pose).

Take the bike ya big pussy !!!

(Then if you drop past here on the way back, we can go for a fang - even down the coast would be OK !! - just ask Phil !!)

OK Gos! ..........weather or not.... here I come.

OK It's two wheels regardless of the poll. :D

I just did a trial packing run to make sure I could get all my paperwork, training manuals, lap top and associated junk into a waterproof article of luggage, as well as having enough room on top to put four business suits, shirts, ties, shoes, belts etc., as well as 7 days worth of jocks, sock, T-shirts, dress shirts, jeans, bum around clothes, toiletries, phone charger, chain lube, Mr. Sheen, Rags, Puncture repair kit with CO2 bottles, waterproof overgear and a few things I havn't listed.

It's all in there, so I am orf tomorrow am early for a ride to Sydney. then Friday the 17th I am going to head off from Sydney after work and make my way to Batemans bay for the night. Hopefully some slack arse canberrans are gunna turn up there to show me the "Good" roads!

that would be great - Hopefully Strika will be OK for a departure from the Bay around 0900, which gives us enough time to belt down the hill early in the morning...... , do the run down the coast road, back up through the hills to Nimmity, and back home by mid-afternoon easy......he could then make it to Cann River by nightfall.....

I might even make melbourne Gos !!!

Well it was a bit of an epic journey.
I slept in till 7-15 this morning after another 1-30am finish. By the time i loaded n dressed it was near on 7-50,with fuel taking me to about 8-00.
I started off in just my leathers, hopeing the rain would hold off. It was racing me as i tootled along the hume. By Broadford it had started drizzling, so i stopped n donned the JR w/Proof jkt. In Hindsight, i should have done the pants too,as half n hour later it started pissing down!!! I stopped under an o/pass n slipped into the duds too as well as slipping my hands into some warmer gloves.

The rain continued like this for 200klms. Just after rejoining the fwy from filling up, a Honda Integra shot past me!!!!! Now i couldn't b 100% sure,as the tank bag sometimes obscured my view of the playschool clock! But i reckon he was doing @ $1.60!! So naturally inplayed wingman, using him as radar fodder. At some points it "felt" like we were doing 200klm's an hour!! But i know in reality that's just being silly isn't it!!! LOL

After Albury the weather started to gradually dry out n warm up. But not before the stitching on my Ventura bag came slightly apart, with the wind catching it and finishing the job!
next thing i feel something hit me in the back,n i glimpse something fly off the bike!!!!

The wind had literally ripped the bag a new zipper without a zip! Opened it like a tin opener.
I u turned n headed back down the road salvaging what i could. Thankfully, laptop et el were ok n didn't get jetisoned! I rearrange things n used some ockies to tie it together enough to get me to Holbrook, where i wasted forty minutes finding some good gaffa tape n a couple of xtra ockies. Job done! I couldn't open the bag,but at least everything was dry and contained!!!!!!!

Mr. Integra must have passed me when i stopped,as just the other side of Jugiong he was pulled over on the side of the road having an exchange of views n ppwk!!! Apparently $1.30 was the damage report!!! His mate was driving though!!
I caught up with them again just after the Yass svc centre. We then resumed play till we hit the Sydney traffic n i lost him. He must have been revving the ring off the Honda to keep up!!

Arrived at the apartment in Parramatta at 4.43pm.

The bike ran well, although i may need a chain after this run.

Thankfully, the run home won't be a transport section. Apparently Gos n possibly Mick are gunna sort a few turns for me!!! I think i might post some of my gear home. The weight really made it struggle in the bends. Even the sweeping right from the M7 onto the M4 had the front oscilating at full lean!!!

cheers!
