when I look for an object that made it go flat I found a big nail shuved
between the rim an the tyre, no way in the world that could've happend
on its own, so rode the bike slowly to nearest servo and put some air in
it to get home, got home, how ever air is stil comn out and the rim is
slitely groved cause the nail and tyre not sure about and I just bought the
bloody thing, does any one know if this prob can be fixd ?

That sux, sorry to hear it! Although it does seem suss at first, nails do tend to lodge in weird places, especially if they are flung about in the process of riding... :?

I know thoughts tend to go through the head and I quickly start blaming people yes that does happen but this nail was strait as and is about 5", 3" of it is in the tyre I would've been level with the tar to get this nail that far in, I asuming I must've taken some one parkin spot for this to happen cause I just started job beginin of this wk

Adel,

It's hard to know if it's fixable without looking at it... I'd rid the wheel off and head down to your nearest Bike shop.

Farkin bike vandals...

I think it would most likely be an act of god, it would be bloody hard to actually get a nail through a tyre like that.

Yeah, it's unlikely to be an act of vandalism. I've had sidewall puntures before - it can just happen that way. The nail was probably flicked up by your front wheel. But even if it was an act of god, you're still correct... some people are bastards !

I was going to make a smart arse comment about cameras and focussing, but that wouldn't be constructive.

Have you ever tried to shove a nail into a tyre? Takes a fair bit of effort. In fact, I'd be impressed if you could do it with your hands.

We had a bloke at work who had a bolt go through the rear rim and out the tyre from the inside. At first you'd think it was impossible, but that's just the way it was.

I don't think tyre sidewall puncture can be fixed.

But the rim itself, I would go to supercheap auto to buy that steel putty thing (hard as iron when cured).

Without seeing it,but i reckon you could fix the rim easy. The nail has put a groove in the rim and this is why the tyre is leaking.Attack the rim with a file and then smooth it with wet and dry.It doesnt have to be perfect, just smooth enough so the tyre will seal against the rim again.Maybe a good idea to get the wheel rebalanced again afterwards.

I am going with Aardy here, you would actually have to hammer or nailgun that nail in there.
Hard to beleive that it flung up but that makes more sense than somone standing there with a hammer doing it. I mean if you took "their" spot you would do somthing other than go to your car and get a nail and hammer out ?
But it SUCH a wierd angle and spot and you ppl will live in cities full of wierdos (as opposed to country towns full of wierdos  ).
Where it is like that why wouldnt they just vulcanise a patch on the inside ?
Try somewhere like Bob Jane instead of a bike shop I guess.
