The beemer isn't pretty, but it is the real deal if you want to tour offroad. The new Tiger looks as though a gravel driveway would give it grief.

i had a bmw 1150 gs adventure and compared to that, the new 1200 gsa is a beauty queen
noticed you got a blackbird whitey, an excellent bike, had one myself for a few years. ive been considering getting another one.
for the moment im done with zx10r's and the other supersports and want something to tour on that i can put a full hard luggage system on, so i can ride around OZ in comfort.
theres just so many to choose from, blackbird, pan european, beemer, FJR1300 (i know lainie will like that option

) and the triumph.
hopefully, i will have made my mind up before i get to oz in january

To right I do,nothing wrong with the QEII.

If your looking for something to tour on it's a great bike.

I take it you will get a bike in Brissy

mate i reckon u could fit it to a nice zx9r...and thats pretty comfy for touring....yet still sporty.... and a better option than a blackbird surely?

Hi half_empty1. Yeah, I'm really happy with the bird - pretty hard to beat as a sports tourer IMO. Have been doing some serious mileage on it. Off to the Snowy this weekend - all good !!

i really wanted to buy new or almost new and the zx9r aint made anymore, so its a no go.

well i think im gonna get myself another honda blackbird when i get there

i got fond memorys of my last one.
ive been looking at loads of options, but for doing some good touring with hard luggage i think the blackbird will be the best choice,
if kawasaki hadnt made the zx14r so damn wierd looking i might have considered it
unless you can convince me the zx14r aint that bad
