Hey peoples living in Canberra, I'm moving down there in little under 3 weeks.
How many riders do we have there? I'd love to meet up for a ride and get a look at some of the great roads you have there.
I know swabio is one but dont know any others >.<
Also can you guys/girls please tell me about Canberra Motorcycle Centre - their service etc etc
Much appreciated

Hi Minorci - when you move into town, put up a post, and we will take you for a leisurely ride around our favourite roads.........

plenty good ones in the 'backyard', and its not too far for a coast run, etc.
Canberra MC Centre are great - I am a *bit* biased, having been a customer since the early 80's

, but they are good - Canberra is only a big country town, they can't afford to piss off customers ( you will always find someone who whinges

just ignore them) - ....Unlike one of the *only* wrecking yards, who are ignorant rip-off thieving scum.
Rhymes with "Blows", and they do !!!!!

Awesome thanks for the replies
I should be getting in on the week of the 13th but wont have my baby for a while after that. Toll for some reason requires the bike to be crated and drained of all fluids etc. So i booked it into Canberra MCC to get its 12k dealer service done and a new pilot power on the front

Once im on the road i'll hit you all up.

Hi Minorci!
Another Canberrian here
CMCC are pretty good, you shouldn't have any problems with them. How long until your bike gets here?
I'll be up for a Coast run! (as long as you guys don't mind a sloooooow rider tagging along

).
Cheers,
Mel.

Hey Minorci, I'll definitely be up for a run somewhere, although I think Briffa is actually a bot instead of a real person...cause he's never turned up to a ride yet
I've met most of the rest of the guys here though, and they're all a good bunch. CMC is pretty good too, some good guys there who've looked after me over the years. They suffer from the small market though, so they can be a bit pricey compared to the bigger cities.

Hey Minorci
Yes there are a few canberra people who lurk around here. Between this place and OCAUMC there will hopefully be a few rides going but I think Canberra has a very low forum member/rider ratio.. Well at least that is the case on OCAUMC
But yeah some decent roads around here and a coast run is good too provided you leave early enough in the morning to avoid the traffic
As has been already said, let us all know when you get into town and we can have a welcome ride.. there might be a couple of people here who I havent met either.

Awesome, keep an eye on this thread.
Neka: Yes toll is taking it, i dont have to pay for anything as APS is paying for it all. I would love to ride down, but honestly can't be bothered, i've been aching for a long time to finally get the ball rolling to move. Job was advertised back in April!

They ask you to drain all fluids as it's classed as Dangerous Goods other wise. When i worked at TNT any motor that had any sign of oil of fuel ever being in it was still classed as Dangerous Goods so you had to pay more. Crated is so they can get a Fork under it
