The Contenders...All over!

For Mick's new bike, in order of preference:
1. Kawasaki Z1000
2. Kawasaki Z750
3=. ZRX1200R
3=. Honda CB900F6
Sat on the SV today, it looks pretty impressive and I was even able to tip-toe it around with both feet on the ground at once. Much
much lighter than my ZZR and on paper heaps lighter than both Kawasakis. I might be even to get away with only getting the seat re-contoured as there is at least 60mm of sponge in the seat just crying out for a scalpel. How do I know?...I made one of the sales guys pull the side plates and the seat off so I could have a look

. $11990 ride-away from Peter Stevens in Elizabeth Street... The only problem is that it's a Suzuki and not a Kawasaki

.
Went to Cosways to see their Zs, and the bastards didn't have either AND just pissed me off with their "I just can't be farked and screw you too" attitude. Bunch of f#$kers don't deserve a sale, and I do not know why I persevere going in that shop, as they are a bunch of a-holes and they piss me off every time I go in there. Seeing one of the Zs in the flesh is going to be a PITA, none of the Kawasaki dealers in Melbourne are located anywhere even remotely handy and I can't be arsed riding to Elliot Bros. in Bendigo just for a look.

The problem with Race Replica is two-fold.
Too far from Woodend, I may as well drive to Bendigo, it's much more scenic. They are too far from work as well, it's not like I can just wander out at lunchtime for a look, it's more of a cut-lunch and half a day off thing. Getting parts is going to be an issue now Peter Stevens don't stock Kawasaki bits, and those bastards at Cosways can go screw.
Also if I go to RR for a bike service there's no public transport and most loaner bikes are too tall for comfort.

the sv seems like a fair bit of bike for the money and no slouch either, I had a bit of a play with one from the lights the other day and although I didnt ring the sixes neck the sv wasnt hanging around either.
I dont know if theirs anything quirky maitanance wise with them but being a twin thats been around a while they should be okay.
have to try the lot of them of course and you know what they say about the 9r.

Price isn't much difference, I was offered a Z1000 last week for about a $1k more than the SV. The Z750 is about a $1k cheaper. Both are significantly taller on paper. As Cosways haven't got any I can't exactly sit on one, and doing what the dickhead sales guy said and "look on the internet" isn't going to cut the mustard either...farking wanker

Just make sure the brakes have been fixed before you ride it ,

I rode a big twin firestorm before buying the zx9 and it was interesting for about 10 minutes

I agree with you about Cosways.I thought they were just rude to me,but it seems they are like that to everyone.That guy in there with the long hair really is a wanker.I went in there a while ago to try on some joe rocket leathers and he didnt have my size and couldnt be bothered even tring to get a sizing for me.Needless to say i did end up buying a set but not from them and i have no intention going to them in the future either.
As an unbiased opinion,get the 750,its a sweet bike.I didnt have much of a wrap for mine when i 1st got it,but now im getting used to it,im really liking it.Cant wait to get my pipe(megacycle)should be ready sometime this week.

If anything Mick, the Z shits on the SV on the pure looks factor. I'd go a Z, but I think they look great. That, and all that "Ya gotta luv the 9" banter cant be wrong can it?
