bad rap for BK

Don't go here if you're after an honest workshop.

Took my CBR there, which had previously passed with no problems at another bike shop that I trust, only that one ran out, the other shop was booked out, so i thought i'd take a chance on these guys.

Mistake.

Fuckers ring and tell me that my discs are undersize. They're not. I checked them with a good gauge and they were .15mm over. I call their bluff, and then the guy stutters and says "i meant they were warped". No you didn't. Fucken say that if that's what you meant. I ask how pray tell he noticed they were warped when I had not noticed the same thing riding it and he says "they look a bit warped".

"They look warped?" I ask. "What kind of shit is that? How does one assess this?"

I go down there, as I just want my bike back and nothing to do with these idiots anymore. I get the usual roadworthy stuff - rear wheel bearings, blahblah... all consumables that they offered to sell me. What the fuck! To get a roadworthy, i've got to renew all this stuff I don't need? Extortion. "We can replace those for you". I'm sure you'd love to. Just to make sure, when I got home, I checked the bearings for play. Nothing.

Must be hard to make an honest $ in the bike game...

I paid them their $70 for the inspection, but it's the last they'll see from me. I hope that anyone considering doing business with them just finds a shop elsewhere. I will from now on.

Fuck you Brighton Kawasaki.

I reckon if you do a poll of every bike store there will be people with both good and bad experiences. BK has just been taken over recently, is it the old BK or the new BK he has probs with?

Either way, personally been there once, seems they done an ok job, nothing special for the price though, think i'd rather take the bike to Inline or Race Replica personally.

new owners at BK since late July, start of August or thereabouts
and that post went up recently in late August

and its surprising... as the new owners had a good rep at their previous
business . Did they bring all their staff from the ol'place ???

Well I haven't recieved either so far...

I have a policy that I don't ask ppl to give us discounts as it may make them feel obligated.
If ppl want to be associated with KSRC, generally, they contact me.

Yeah I wasn't suggesting you be a suckhole Madkaw!!! Was more...if you already had an arrangement with the previous management, a courtesy email to inform the new management of this prior arrangement, and ascertain if they would like to continue? I just figured if it benefited the members in some way...........

as one who 'arranged' the previous..I had no problems with Ken
others have ..and I am aware why some might complain

the new guys????
Mick and Fi??...I have had a chat with Fiona
but not had the time to sit Mick down and have a quiet one

happy to do so..once things have settled down
but happy for others to fly the KSRC flag and have chat

cheers

Have seen someone that took a Kwaka to Redwing Honda have a massive botch about them too, peronslaly I would have thought an inline 4 is an inline 4 regard;les of the name on the bike, same for a twin etc but seems that's not the case...

Ken looked after us BRILLIANTLY no complaints at all there. :D

I think the problem with the new owners is, they need time to settle and get to know the "regular" customers.
