ANOTHER insurance thread...

actually Kishy knew a bit abt this....

ok, we do it all the time, but i need sum usefull info.

as i now dont have a licence for the 2nd time in the last 3 yrs, and my gf is under 21 , and since my insurance is due in a week (not that they will pay if i have a claim but neway).....
well my problem is finding sum bastard to insure me ...well my ute anyway (god forbid i get a nice new bike)

so this is how its been... most insurers wont insure me/us due to those factors, and those who will charge 3 times as much for the priveledge (even tho only 1 claim in 5 yrs for a car getting broken into)... mongrels...

googled looking for insurers..got a billion of em, but each 10min quote ends with the same response... so does ne1 kno of a couple of insurers i can compare who deal with idiots??

only one so far seems to be Just Car Insurance....

also for what its worth, is it worth posting a list of insurers in 1 of our sections?? maybe with headings like
"under 25's"
"over 30's"
"high risk"
etc so we dont have to do this every time sum1 gets a insurance renewal.... mind u it helps us keep track of the buggers...

Mate, Just Car did my son's car and they seemed OK. He had no history (he had just got his P's) but he was insuring a Subaru lLberty that was lowered, with wheels and an exhaust etc, so noone else would go near it. They're owned by AAMI so they are pretty solid I think. Might be your best option.

Good luck with it.

I've just, as of the weekend, lost my licence for the second time.

Bike insurance hasn't changed - just means I've gotta pay a penalty excess of $850 if I bin it. I'm with Swann insurance for that.

RACQ Insurance have cancelled my policy (third party fire & theft) as it's my 2nd licence loss within five years.

Got onto Suncorp, and got the run around with them in regards to whether or not they would insure me - they are going to call their underwriters and let me know.

Got onto NRMA and they quoted me some ridiculous amount for insurance, so told them to go jump.

unfortunatley dude. Just Cars Insuance and AAMI are ur best bet (having said that AAMI own Just Cars).

ur if finding the premium they quote you too much, ask them if you can opt of increase ur standard excess - say for example from $500 to maybe $750 or even $1,000 - that will bring ur premium down as well. also if u stick to a named driver policy that will reduce it as well.

is ur ute just stock?? or is it modified?

.. been in insurance for 8ish years.. and yeah Just Car Insurance seems to be the only ones that can insure peeps with a cross on their driving history - which sucks big time.

pm me if u gots any issues with insurance.

I've decided that I'm going to take 1 point for 12 months instead of complete loss for 3 months.

Ths means that it's not a licence loss, rather a good behaviour period.

Also have sold my car as it needed a heap of work done to it, and I wasn't prepared to fix it.

hmm the thing was, i didnt choose the good behaviur ...i just got issued it...after a suspension over here, u have to go 12 months without a point to get ur full licence back..which sucks ass...

While on insurance here, is anybody with QBE?

Thinking of taking their comp. policy for the ZRX...Are they any good?
