YA GOTTA LUV TH' NINE!

Welcome to the debut of KSRC Queensland's worst kept secret ...

12/01 built F model. It's been down on the right hand side (obviously!), but fairings have been substantially repaired already, and the frame's been straightened. The funny coloured gold RHS fairing was for roadworthy inspection - other than that, the ducktail and RHS are in primer. It's got a Whitepower sprung revalved front end, Barnett clutch, Whitepower steering damper and Pipemasters pipe.

The poor old thing's had a bit of a hard life, really.

Did I say old???

Maybe not. However, it has been raced/tracked (speedo disconnected), so I can't be sure of true km. It's not a high k bike, though - except for some marks where the raceglass (and the PO's boots!) has rubbed, it all looks pretty much new.

Still to do:
  • Grease the steering head bearings (feels a little dry)
  • Finish repairing belly pan.
  • Either finish repairing headlight or get another
  • Paint (suggestions, anyone?)
  • Stickers
After my trip at the beginning of the year, I was getting pretty sick of the ZZR's suspension and ground clearance. So for a while I was putting feelers out for suspension upgrades, and then this popped up. It was very definitely the right price.

Go green, keep it original

Actually, the original is the gold on the LHS. I have an admission to make: I don't like green. :(

The tank's in 03 colours.

I'm thinking probably either the original Candy Gold Spark or a custom candy blue. Going original would make sticker selection simple, I guess.

Yep, even the guy who did the roadworthy inspection knows where those tyres come from. :D

Nice work!

If you're ambitious on the paint, I reckon try for something along the lines of the black/pink/purple ZX-7R jobbie!

Otherwise I'd say go either straight white or gold.

That's great! A blank canvas. I'm not sure if it was your model but there was a ZX9R that came in black that looked the biz. (pearl mystic black?) Get some photoshop happening to see what suits best. Some of the automotive colours would look good on a bike too- like the current Falcon range- some pretty wild and bright colours in there.

Man, if that isn't exactly like the sort of bike i have been looking for. Do you mind me asking what you paid for it? You can PM me if u don't want to publicise it. But it might just bive me more bartering ammunition when I find one for me to haggle over

As for the paint job, I won't say my fav green, as you have already said you dislike it a bit. What about a colour similiar to the blue that came out in them originally. It was a sort of candy apple blue of sorts wasn't it. It looked and still does look bloody good. And as you mentioned sticker choice would be far better. Of all the nines I see around the place and on the web, apart of course for Ponti's amazing gold nine, the blue ones always look the best. just ask Gig!!!!!

Whadya pay matey, that's just the thing that would fit in my garage nicely and give me summut to do before puttin it on the road, did I say put another bike on the road, DON'T TELL SUE

Maaaate 10 orange with the 02 rising sun stripes in black, go the colur matched bellypan as well, my opinion is they look better in one base colour than having the bellypan in different, if I get a knacker that needs painting tis what I'm thinkin or back to green if it's a half decent one

Parts bike??!!! Quiet, you, you'll offend the poor thing!

Up'n'down's a good thought.

So's blue. I like blue (sez him with blue leathers + helmet + a red bike!). :D

I thought about black, then thought about stickers/no stickers. I think I prefer the original scheme, if not the original base colour. A bit of photoshopping/looking around might change my mind, though.

Falcon colours - interesting.

well done rusty, looks great.

gotta say i'm partial to the candy blue of the 98 model, its proven to be faster as well

i'd say keep it one colour, cept i'll disagree with damon in that i quite like the dark grey belly pan.

still, looks the goods and i'll bet you'll love it 8)
