Heated Grips

I made one for about $10. Can't leave home without it
-2 yesterday on hume highway... no problems

I use the ones built into the BMW handgrips... They are free with the bike.

yea but u gotta buy a big pig ugly (pardon the pun) white bike with panniers & flashy disco lights to get it...

Found the oxford grips for $130. Sadly, SSM are charging $250 to fit the bastards.
My question to you all:
How hard is it to remove the tank on a ZX10? And how hard is it to wire into the ignition?

pass!!..sounds way hard...
actually i dont think it would be that hard on a blade..having apart 26 times helps... so maybe it wouldnt be that hard?? does it stuff with the current electronics tho??

The oxford grips works well and are not hard to fit and u dont have to wire them to ignition just dont forget to turn them off
$250 to fit jeff fitted mine in about 15 minutes ,
So whats that an hour........ Fu**#en too much

Ive had 4 bikes fitted with them,wouldnt be without them.
Dont hard wire them(straight from battery)as 2 things could happen.
1.you forget to turn them off and you come out the next morning with a dead flat battery.
2.If you park your bike somewhere on the street,some peanut might come along and play with the swich and switch them on(same result as point 1)
You dont need to take your tank off,you can tap into your stop/tail lights(under the ductail).I have done this with all of my bikes no probs and that way it is swiched from the ignition.

follow the above and use a relay , not hard to fit at all
go to jaycar and you can get the relay and the plug in conector and a little bit of wire , prob all up for about $10

yeah, did the relay and fitted my neons (did a promo for a mates club, had my bike on display) through the tail. Dont cant seem to hide the wiring to the fron of the bike.
hence taking off the tank to run it under the tank, out of sight...
Will look into it over the weekend. Thanks guys...

I just fitted some heated grips to my new zx14......work fine..cost me $50 from Bike Biz at Parramatta. They are the ones made at Inverel Motorcycles. It is essential to wrap the left bar with gaffa tape or something before re applying the rubber grip as the metal handlebar absorbs half of the heat if you dont. The right one works great from the get go. I have them on low most of the time they work so well as I hate to wear bulky gloves and i just use my thinish (is that a word?) Dainenese.

... or tap the wires to the front city lights. That's how I did mine and easier as it is closer to hanle bar. Add a fuse though...
