Woman arrested over hit, run

A WOMAN has been arrested after she allegedly fled the scene of an accident in which she ran down and injured a motorcyclist, while intoxicated.
Police allege the woman was travelling east on Kenmore Road at Kenmore, in Brisbane's outer west, at about 6.35pm (AEST) yesterday when she veered onto the wrong side of the road and hit the motorcyclist.

The female motorcyclist skidded along the ground before coming to a halt, near her bike. She was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with two fractured wrists.

Police said the car driver failed to remain at the scene.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested at her home and is expected to be charged with drink driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to remain at the scene.

Hate to say it, but I was a little relieved when I read "the female motorcyclist"...my brother lives out that way...

Well it wasn't another death or anything Mina.

Anyway these hit n runners are the worst. I am glad, and also somewhat suprised that she was caught. Normally it just gets chalked up as a one vehicle rider-error accident, and the fuckers get away with it.

Hope she gets put in the slammer for it, it's what she deserves for that. Although being a Kenmorian she no doubt has enough money to buy the judge.

I saw the the bike and bits and pieces as I drove home from my parents place last night, it looked pretty nasty and the cops were still photographing the scene at 10:30 at night - wish they were wearing their reflective gear though...

Its good to hear the rider is not too bad...hope the drink driver goes straight to h...

i hope she ends up in prison.....i got 6 months for low range DUI..if she gets less than that ill be appealing it..

I personally would start off with 6 month prison....

Hard to guage what a good penalty shoudl/would be.

Id say more for hit and run. Less for just an accident.
(I would like like it to be heeps, but alas our system sucks)

A neighbour of mine did a so called hit and run.

A girl ran across the road, changed her mind and doubled backed across the road, he hit her,
Was 3am 20 plus people with her. He came to a stop (quickly he said) they were chasing his car, throwing bottles etc.

He kept driving around the corner, pulled over called the cops & ambulance. They told him to go home, he got done with hit and run.

He coped a fine, and loss of licence for 2 years for hit and run.

thats a crock of crap, he got ripped off :-\

when munkee hit a car that turned in front of her she told the driver he better piss off before i got there

hit and run resulting in injury- licence loss 12 months....at least... if drunk, then double it...

hit and run causing death....licence loss 2 years (mind u it wont be needed spending 2 years in prison)...if drunk...5 years for both..no parole...

of course different circumstances for different situations..... like if it can be proved the "hitee" was drunk or caused their own greif...

oh and you forgot the time that stupid old fart knocked me off my zzr in the carpark of the goldie arts centre, leant out the window saw me lying under me bike put the car into gear and went and found a different spot to park... my college friend yelled out to him to get him to come over to say sorry or SOMETHING... and he told me I shouldnt have been there in the first place!!!

and then to make it worse, when I went to report the incident at the cop shop - they told you to fuck off cos you were too boistrous (??spelling) and they made out like it was my fault cos I ride motorbikes...

yeah they said there was nothing they could do cos it happened in a public car park and i asked where does he live

ya see..if this hadda happened to me...i would got my ass out from under the bike...or hang on..if i were ur man...or my girl got that kinda shit..i woulda had the old bastards pension cut off...i woulda fixed the old prick...neway...
