another crasher!

Post by wes_zx6r05 »

binned it on the way to work last tuesday morning. I was only about 300 metres from home when it happened.
I was turning left through an intersection and as i was getting the bike upright i opened the throttle about 10%. The next thing i know the bike is sideways and it then flipped on to its right side, my ankle took the full force of the bike hitting the road.
I was only travelling about 15 to 20 kph at the time.

Spent 8 days in hospital with a badly fractured ankle. They put 2 screws into it on the 11th and i'm not going to be able to walk on it for 3 months.
Which gives me heaps of time to get the bike fixed up. Luckily the damage is pretty much all cosmetic, due the the low speed of the accident.

The cause? Combination of things i reckon:
Cold Tyres
Damp Road
Was a bit frosty that morning.
maybe even a bit of oil.

I'll post some pics when i have some.

Yes, while he's laid up injured in a place which doesn't have a government-administered not-at-fault road trauma compensation scheme, Wes is going to have time to contemplate how good Victorians have it...

Any of the first three would've done it.

your lucky my brother had a low speed bin at the island i think it was and it took 11 odd years for his ankle to come good, he was flexing his legs after wining a race and his boot caught something and spun his whole lower leg clean around.
Pops the clutch n falls off haha!!
