Well after many moons and thoughts..... i lashed out (again..... read.... wife overseas so unable to stop me!!!!) and treated myself to a Digital Vid Camera
I ended up getting a JVC GZ-MC100 (
http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?mode...7325&pathId=119 )
So to help out with the mounting of the cam on my bike I ordered a tank cam mount from
http://www.sportbikecam.com.au (anyone used one of these?)
Can't wait to get it all sorted out and take it for a lap or two
well here is a vid i came across !

Well ! I took the cam out the other day....... and found out that microdrives are not a fan of being mounted on a bike! It would shut down within about 20 seconds. hmmmm that sucked ass!@
So i returned home and grabbed the CF card from the Digi SLR (2GB Sandisk Extreme III) and damn, it worked a treat!
Now all i have to do is work out how to make the video small enough to post somewhere! Any ideas? I managed to get a fairly small vid down to about 60MB but am still struggling!
Cheers

i heard those hard drive camcorders have got a shut down system to protect the hard drive any slight bump or sudden fall over 6 inches shuts them down apparently sky divers cant use them.

yeah the HDD cams have anti shock crap in them..... but you can disable it at risk of damaging the cam / hdd completely.
Harddrives are def not a fan of any shocks.... so unless you want tape, get one that can accept CF / SD cards etc.
Re size, my new cam is pretty small. I will take a photo of it mounted on the bike and post it tomorrow.
