Hi all:

I've always been checking Kawasaki US website, & really liked the new zzr 600 (07') so during last service of my bike i asked the kawa dealer about the zzr 600. They told me that they don't have new bike of zzr 600, the only way is to get a (imported) second hand.

Just wondering that, is it the only way to get a zzr 600 (new model)? I've seem many old model of second hand around though. I maybe change my bike in a year or two if i've enough money so just looking for more info now

In the USA when they replaced the older shape with the 03/04 shape, they kept producing the old ZX6 and brought it in badged as the new ZZR600 to apeal more to the sports touring market. (Much larger market in the USA)

So the Oz Kawasaki dealer is correct. If you want a Brand new ZZR600, which is basically an old ZX6, then you will have to source one privately O.S. HTH.

hmm...so in this case, zx6 is proberly better choices (in the cost and others) in Oz. I'm still with my little 250 now....never ridden a bigger bike so was little afread of the power and the riding position.

but i think i'll forget about zzr 600... importing a bike privately doesn't seem to be any better then get one from dealer in Oz.

Shouldnt be afraid mate, being afraid suggests you should spend some more time on the 250

The 00-02 ZX6/636's are a great step up from a 250...

Very forgiving and the riding position is sporty, yet comfortable...

Worth a test ride before ruling them out.

theres a few options for you.
Z750, ER6 etc.

Dave has a good point though - check out the earlier ZX6's

Ive ridden their big brother (zx9) and its one of the most comfortable sports bikes ive ever sat on so i assume its little bro is very similar.

Dont be too scared of the current 6's either i reckon.
its all about how hard YOU are willing to ride it. if you think you can be sensible and control yourself then you should be fine. They may not heaps comfortable though but you get used to it.

I was thinking of the same thing - should stay with 250 for maybe another 1~2 years, so i'm more then confortable to control the bike.

I use my bike for commute in city area, so i had to lane split between cars alot, that's also one of my concern because the 6' are bigger also in size - just my skills.

I can vouch for the 02 ZX6 as I've just moved to one from a 250. Great bike and I'm actually finding it an easier bike to ride and am already more confident on it than I was on the 250.
Then again maybe that's cos the 250 is a Suzuki

The fact that you have concerns about the power of the 6 tells me that you would be mature enough to handle it. The US zzr600 was a Rebadged 02 zx636r with higher bars, Lower pegs & a couple of other minor changes.
I would suggest you stay clear of the 03/04 zx6r "Barra" as they are very aggressive in the stock form & could get you into trouble. All the Kwaka 600's are great but require different types of riders to enjoy them the most.
