A little update.

Remember that Premier exhaust Gos?

Over Christmas I gutted the old baffles, cleaned and polished the system and got it starting to look nice, even found a slip in baffle that looks like it will fit a treat ( just a tad loud without it).

Wouldn't you know it, found a couple of little rust spots at the join just near the welds where the 4 goes into the one .... bugger, little bastards go right the way through :(

hmm where to from here? any thoughts?

I reckon you should contact Dave Alderton in Sydney and see if he can weld up the pipe for you. He and his dad Laurie can do all sorts of things to bike parts ;) . Located in Smithfield.

Or - you could sell it to me because its beyond fixing

might have to get a couple of replicas made from the Prem system with removable baffles for rego :D

The yoshi was my back up plan but I doubt they will through rego somehow, unless I can find some deaf bloke 8)

Kwakked Up, have been pondering on my '77 Z1000 whether to cut away half of rear mudguard, install new LED strip brake light under ducktail top edge and make new number plate bracket and suddenly your picture pops up showing mudguard taken off. Can you post photo of rear of bike which will give me better picture of what it looks like?

Many thanks,

Yeah I looked at cutting down the original, then I bought a shorter guard off another model but didn't like it so settled on this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KAWASAKI-73- ... 3375e8b5ae

after that I rooted around trying to decide on different aftermarket lights and really couldn't find anything I liked so I fitted the stock light and think it is ok. Took a little fiddling around and a couple of extra spacers but fairly straight forward.

I will take a pic for you over the weekend.

heh Rob - just a thought. The z900 oval-shape tail light suits that ducktail shape heaps better. Easy enough to modify the bracket to suit the frame mounts as well :kuda:

thanks Gos

Will check it out, the fender eliminator kit was for a z900 so I wouldn't imagine there would be too much mucking around :kuda:

Thanks mate, the picture is enough to give me an idea of the look, much appreciated. I had been thinking about it and like Gos thought that maybe the 900 oval tail light would look better tucked up into the ducktail than the original, more thinking and decisions too make

Doing it is easy, deciding which way to go is the hard part!!!!

too right. I was looking at a cats eye and thought it might look ok then saw a pic of one fitted and it wasn't good at all.

I was looking at trying to fit the zx7 tail light as it is a great shape for the zeddy.

What's happening with the Tail light mate, you know I am waiting to see the finished job so I can make up my mind!!!!!!
I have already decided to put the fender eliminator on but will be a job for the cold wet months in winter, also new carbies going in, I have given up on the leaking heaps of shit original ones on now. Also clutch slipping under load so may just replace springs to start with and see what happens. Hopefully plates ok as I haven't bought any but I reckon new springs after 38 years may be the answer.
