I really don't know. Some of the older bikes are, and touring bikes seem to be, but perhaps it doesn't fit in with the sports philosophy or something. There's a GSX250 Across and a ZZR250 sitting in the garage right now that have them fitted as standard, and the old '95 - '97 ZX6R had them fitted as well from memory (well, I know mine did anyway).
It would take bugger all to have them put on at the factory .... but maybe they want the cash from rad repairs? I dunno.
EDIT: Anyhoo, it's definately something that I will be installing on any new bike before it leaves the floor next time. That and perhaps an ohlins ... hehe

Fred thinks there shite because they make your engine hotter and therefore wear quicker
Turns out Fred is actually NeilP who doesn't seem to like Ponti's idea of letting people know what he does via the club
Most everyone else think's this is shite because they want to know what Ponti does and if he makes stuff cheaper they want to buy it.
Gos is heavier then 85kg's
Rossi has a strap on....which Lucas has seen
NeilP wants a set of leg warmers
In an unfortunate accident Greeny seems to have hit his head against a brick wall
Duane thinks women who drink tea get too much sun
and Mick C said there's storms in Canberra but its' OK cause he's nibbling chips off his shoulder.
and as you can tell from the above I've got too much time on my hands and should go home.
Whats' confusing????????
Glen
you forgot Micks' ...'gut protector'

I think its purely a production cost cutting/spare parts earning deal from the manufacturers. Even Rhonda have stopped putting them on the 600rr.
I just rang Pro Kwaka here in Bris a new Radiator for My ZX8R F1 is $1148 ex Japan (so a three week wait as well) Holy budgie poop
Not all stones will make a Rad unrepairable of course so you may get away with a $100 reweld from a Radiator repair mob.
But the thing that worries me is more is the radiator dropping its guts under my back wheel as i set up for an apex in the middle of the snowies. Thats not a situation i would enjoy being at. It can happen anywhere Just ask Sean Giles (aus Team Suzie) a rock cost him this years Aus super bike Championship with a dnf in one of the rounds. On another occassion last year someone dropped a bike twice on his own coolant getting back to the pits.
Cheers Brett
PS Too my detractors, I'm still out of Mesh so this isnt about $. Moreover why i investigated making one for Janelle & myself in the first place.

Sorry Ronster, the absence of your bollocks from my rambling summation have been duly noted.
And also Micks Gut Protector, Sorry Mick
Did I mention I don't think my radiator guard makes my engine run hotter, although it was winter when I didn't have it so really I have no idea...Oh well.

It's madkaws site not yours, if he didn't want Brett talking about them he would have said something to Brett..
You're just coming across as very mean and petty.

BTW, Brett asked me if it was OK well before his first post about these.
I don't have a problem with it, if its suitable for the site, and members can get something for the right price, its all good... oh, and I want one..
As long as ppl ask...
I just found this thread humorous so I let it go...
