Thanks again to all of you.

Yes a relief he is progressing well indeed.

It is a surreal feeling, sometimes numb, try to keep busy so I don't think excessively about him, other times it is tragic in way, then I can be a little hard ass having spent a long time in hospital myself. Guilt because of the distance to visit and not being there for him

Overall hope and remaining positive seems to work atm.

Yeah, thanks for the update. I wanted to ask... but didn't want to ask, in case it brought more pain.
I'm really pleased to hear he's improving. Great to hear some good news
Take care of yourself too Jonno

Update.

I called into Vic Rehab center on my way to Adelaide recently and seen him over two days, he didnt know i was coming and was so happy to see me, we talked for hours about everything and joked about the whole thing (which is our way usually to deal with shite), I took him for a cruise in his wheelchair outside and loved the 12R and remembers being on the old one in Qld. He actually wants to get a bike of his own still 8)

Anyway he is doing very well, talking and really likes to have visitors, he is trying to regain strength to walk, and still has his sense of humour

His short term memory is not good but he remembers some things after being reminded. His speech is a little slow and his immediate choice in vocabulary is somewhat limited but improving daily. He holds a conversation very well and remembers weeks later which is great :D

He is looking at intensive rehab for the next 5 months or so which is way too long as far as he is concerned but a good spirit to be in IMO, in that time they may fix the hole in his skull, but overall it is a remarkable recovery ;)

I read him some of the well wishes from here and he was a little overwhelmed and so was i actually by his reaction, he said to thank you all :kuda:
