what a cathartic exercise this thread turned out to be !!!!

Sometimes I reckon people expect far too much of others - this place is just a forum, albeit one of the better ones. It has always fulfilled my expectations of assistance with technical / other advice for a whole range of bikes, but especially my sportsbike (well sports-barge if you must )

It has also given me a whole new range of riding buddies, for trips from one end of the East Coast to the other. No other forum even goes close to that. The annual trips to WSB / GP, or HG, or even a short run through the mountains - are trips to look forward to.

I think sometimes that a lot of people here put forum-posting above motorcycle riding, which is the wrong way of doing things. Riding bikes is what its all about, not wheelstanding your keyboard (says he with >6k posts, I type 80wpm and knock over 20 posts in the same time as it takes most nuffies to take a crap, so deal with it)

Hoffy - if you need a break then have one. It won't stop me catching up with you at track days, or organised rides away. I will miss your ascerbic wit though......

S&W - If this place no longer fulfills your expectations, then what can we do to fix this ? Its impossible to stop newbies asking questions, thats why they are newbies. I joined over 3 years ago as well, and this place was hilarious with all the non-kawasaki specific stuff that abounded from the Vics........I miss that stuff a lot. Some of the funniest posts I ever read were from back then.

I think the biggest problem these days is that people take themselves far too seriously, and expect others to also maintain a high level of seriousity. All I can say is ......LTFU !! Lighten the Fuck Up.

Its ok, I know what the problem is...... it is that I have not had intermenet! and have been absent during the week with only the odd post on weekends that has caused the gravitational stability of KSRC to be disturbed!

There really must be a full moon atm.. there is so much angst on the forums atm (not only this one)

It's winter, people aren't riding as much and sharing the love.

I still think this place rocks, people are tops and our illustrious leader does a fantastic job of picking up toys and dummies and putting them back in the box.

Forums are forums. people bicker, leave, come back, bicker and leave again.

Not so long ago, we could of had a major falling out due to someones untimely mistake but we didn't, we came together sensibly, dealt with it in a mature way and got over it. This in my opinion was the 'Old School KSRC' at it's best.....................If it happened on a ride now I think it may end up differently, before all the HCSC, rider trainer, admin, fuckin fire chief, KSRC bin collector bullshit was created, let's try and get back to the way it was, fuck Hoffy, let him go play butt plugs with his mates, collectively we can have a ball and still have our BORING get togethers where we all have a laugh and joke and not necessarily talk shit about bikes (anyway Windsor Leagues takings are up).

Where in a community can you not see people for weeks and next time be greated with open arms and a beer.

Motorcycling isn't about the bikes, it's the friendships you create whilst being in the community, who gives a shit who passes who on the outside, what bike you ride, how fast you are, it's the getting together and helping people out like Strika, is where the club comes into it's own, more of this please.

Personally, I couldn't give a rats arse if people go, stay or just kinda hover about the place in some kind of apethetic manner. A post every now and then to let everyone know you're still alive is appreciated, but if you don't, hmph....

People change, their lives change and their priorities change. Someone will buy a piece of crap Honda and find they suddenly want to post on the Honda forum instead. Good on them. Ciao!

The people who conitnue to post here, year after year, are the ones who get together at events and have a good time as mates. They came together at some stage because of bikes, but sooner or later, bikes take a back seat and friends talk about things friends talk about. If every post here was about bikes, it'd be just plain shit and I for one wouldn't be here any more.

All those feeling a little bit on edge just need to take a chill pill.
