I may have missed it but has anyone considered the "missus wont let me get a bike" because she has worked out that they cant afford it? And spending 10k or even 5K on a bike, rego, tyres, gear etc is an expense entirely for one person but paid for both?
I have 3 bikes - but the latest was definitely a joint decision based on finances rather than "danger".

HHHmmm Ive just been threw this caper with my partner, we have been together for 6 months i have had bikes my hole life but haven't had one for a few yrs, when i first met her a was recovering from a bike off on my KX250, broke 5 bones/ fibbier, patella, and 3 ribs, when i started dating her i didnt have a bike as it got ripped off when i was on holidays, any way i told her i was looking into getting a new bike, she wasnt happy as she has just finnished looking after her brother after being knocked off his bike from a car (Not his fault car pulled out)
any way she was telling all her family and they were getting stuck into me hopping that it would change my mind, i told her i was in negotiation to bye Don's ZX10 and the next day i brought it and told her....
well it was like walking into satans den she let rip and didnt stop just kept going and going and going, till i just turned and walked away, every time we spoke for 3 days she was just into me, telling me it was so dangerous and that she wont sit home worrying evertime i go out on it,bla bla bla we wont be having any kids while i own a motorcycle bla bla bla, 3 days everytime we saw each other thats all that she would say, i was in more danger being near her than on a bike lol, after 3 days i just said to her i have always had bikes i will always have bikes, dont try change me, you say its dangerous could kill me, you smoke every day it will kill you there is no doubt in that, its a F#*%'n waist of money and makes you smell, and no mother of my children will smoke... well lets just say i still have the Ninja

and she is on the patches and giving up

"sucks to be you, i don't have a minister for war and finance" accompanied with a BIG Smile!
If anything the BF thinks 3 bikes of my own isn't enough, and is almost more excited about the prospect of a new track and race bike of my very own!
