The ksrc kuda did originally come directly from the barracuda/shocker. I think it's a bit disingenuous to pretend it has nothing to do with the shocker (which I've been guilty of saying too). It came directly from it. Yes, it has moved away from it, and I hope it moves further away, but don't act shocked if some people feel uncomfortable with it. If I stumbled onto a new motorbike forum that pretty much held up the shocker as their signal/symbol, I'd probably figure it wasn't really a place I'd fit into very well and move on.
That said, the ksrc kuda has moved a long way away from the original meaning. In my opinion, it is displayed in person as an 'in-group' gesture, given in fun and to show membership. It is added to posts on this forum almost entirely in a "woo hoo" or "hell yeah" symbol of enthusiastic agreement. Nobody appears to be seriously using the kuda to say "I agree with your comment and thusly, fill each hole in your body with my fingers" ;)

As a community, we will determine whether it stays linked to the shocker, or continues to distance itself from it (or gets removed altogether), in the way we use it / explain it. Perhaps that's something to think about next time the topic comes up?

Out of interest, I did a quick search of the threads with associations/explanations of the kuda on the forum...

Hmmm, after reading through those, it seems many people disagree and consider it still closely linked with the shocker...

YES.

The question should be: ''What is KSRC's demographic objective in regards to building membership?''

From a chicks perspective..
Im 34 and it doesnt offend me. I couldnt imagine it would offend the majority of Y generation, however those more mature chickies and blokes out there may. I have to admit kuda did take me back, but i soon realised it didnt define the club, far from it.

To all Newbies and Stalkers (sorry Guests  )
Take the time to meet members in person and ride, you'll soon realise that everyone gets nuts online at some stage (self included),

I didnt join KSRC for Kuda, i joined because the club is full of knobs like myself who share a passion for bikes, riding and bullshit.

Kuda has evolved.

I am 52 in 2 weeks time & have lived a full life during which I know & have known some seedy fu#k*s in that time....so now I find out what the kuda gesture means...what does that mean to me..Nuthin...to me it is KSRC and now that I know its alternative it does not offend me as I choose to see it as KUDA :kuda: cute li'll bugga at that.
At the end of WW2 two fingers spread was Victory, and I think the swastika is also a buddhist symbol....people will be offended just for the sake of being offended or they can take something the way it is offered, as it is at KSRC as a well done, you rippa, or goodonya...as the majority does

Kuda has evolved.
I'm 23 and female (shock! horror!) and it doesn't offend me.

The Kuda (as opposed to its grandfather the Barracuda) represents that they're proud to be associated with the close knit family KRSC. It doesn't define us, but it unites us in a way. Despite its origins, as 'dirty' and 'derogitory' as they are are, its not what the little green guy reprerents and means to KSRC members. Sure, to an uninformed outsider or a noob it may seem a bit daunting that a club has a mascot of that nature, but when I joined KSRC I'd heard about the Kuda, (and yes, I know what the original is all about) but straight away i recognized it as a symbol of a family. A family who love what they do and do what they love.. Ride Kawasaki. I love that we have something that stands out. Yeah he's a little Un-PC, and out-there, but seriously in this day and age of censorship, who wants be a sheep? Stand up, Stand Proud, shout it Loud - KUDA STAYS!!!

When first appear in ksrc, I thought it was not original. Then the icon appear and I use it a lot :kuda:

For fun its ok I guess. But I wouldnt want to wear a T shirt with it printed. Far less original tha the 'qualifying' one. That always bring smile to ppl. :D

I reckon whoever it is, OWNS UP OR SHUTS THE FUCK UP.
I have been lurking the site for the last week or so, since coming back from OS and I have to say it isn't making compelling reading.
It is getting ridiculous, remember the Old School Days (for those that can), we all carried on as if it was the local pub bar, hanging shit, carrying on, airing our issues without a word of prejudice, contempt or judgement. Asking advice to things that mattered and getting support inthe background from mates that really mattered.
So whats happening?
I remember some dickhead making a bad judgement call and people ending up in hospital, fuck me, if that happened now, how would it be  but those involved could still sit in a room converse and eventually hang shit on each other again. That's mates, we may not see each other everyday but when we do we enjoy the time.
After that incident I spent the best part of 3 years convincing my missus the best part about owning a Kawasaki here was the club and the social circle and mateship that went with it.
From what I have witnessed lately, it's becomming a joke.
So, if I'm not the majority I don't care but whoever it is that's winging.
PUT UP OR FUCK OFF OVER TO NETRIDER or some other mamby pamby forum thats moderated to shit.
My 2c :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:
