Dam dude am so sorry to hear about the bike. Yeah as a newb I had it grilled into me about new tyres and to ride even worse than miss daisy on the them. I am just glad your ok and has got me thinking about seriously getting knee guards for under our kevlar jeans till we can afford leather pants. Sorry to hear again mattie.

Sorry Sam can't make it tonight. Yeah, once I start wearing a particular piece of protective equipment I can't go back.
Every bit of equipment you wear (or better quality you buy) raises the threshold that you will start getting injured.
In my off I slid on my forearms and knees.
Fox motorcross knee and shin pads cost me $20.
Doesn't make a lot of sense to spend $350 on a jacket with forearm protection, and then not spend $20 on knee protection when they're gonna cop the force just the same.
I'd say, do it straight away, you never know when a turkey is gonna cross the road to see your chicken strips.
