I agree with MadKaw.
I think the antics of a couple of people over the last few months have made people overtly sensitive to jibes and digs that otherwise (and as MadKaw said - historically) wouldn't have caused any ripples.
As per Cath's thread this is a great site with great people. I think though that various member drives, or at least the membership increase whatever the cause, is a two-edged sword - the site gets more active, but at the same time you get many more personalities that can clash. And with a larger membership base you naturally get more off-topic discussions.
There was a time when I knew every active member on the site - not necessarily having met in person, but that didn't matter.
Now, I have to admit that I know only a fraction.
That does change things, and along with no longer riding regularly, that makes me less active on the site - only really contributing in threads posted by those I do know, or threads for which the subject looks interesting. Arguably I could interpret that the same way as Mr Hoff and Mr Wobbly - as the site being boring or off track as there's less I'm interested in.
I think the only thing Hoffy did 'wrong' was slightly (yes slightly, he just said he was bored FFS) bag out KSRC on another forum - the sentiment wasn't out of line, he's free to his own opinion, but some may feel slighted that he didn't say something here first. But the site owner didn't over-react, so why should anyone else?
People are overreacting here. Go to Cath's thread, enjoy the group hug, and move on.
