I know "a bloke" who bought a Z200 and put the plates and rego label on a non ADR compliant KDX 200 so it could be ridden in enduro comps . The Z 200 was then turned into parts

has he still got any of those parts laying around?.. or better yet.. can you do an introduction in rgs to ph numbas so that i could talk to him?..
i just checked the interior of the tank on vix bike and it is growing stalagmite and stalagmite rusticles in there..so i am no longer just waving my arms for help as i am in serious trubbles as the bike wreckers i can get into contact with dont have any tanks in resonable condition or price.. sigh..

That's not too bad I guess.
I was thinking if they were asking several hundred dollars it might be worth a trip to a plastics engineering co...

Maybe some one on here can check their local wreckers for ya.
Mind you $75 sounds OK if the tank is good .
Update your location for us Mate

the tank had a fairly good dent on one side and i suspect that it had a bit of rust on the inside as well judging by the pic i got of it..
my location is freezing bluddy lithgow in nsw..

a "bit" of rust? well put a dozen ice cubes in there, seal it shut, and shake it like all fark to get the rust off, and drain it (not thru the petcock thou)
then do the gel inner coating
