Driving a Toyota Surf 2.4 turbo diesel. Just got it.



Had to find a bigger car with an auto because the missus didn't like the fact that the whole family couldn't fit in the hx ute.



Wife also owns a 2012 ford focus.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7L Hemi. Will pull the trailer out from under the boat if you punch it hard enough Chews fuel at about 18L/100k if you take it easy around the burbs, sensational piece of kit. Before this I had a HSV Grange and I'd take the Jeep anyday.

Parents had a jeep cherokee... 2000's model... a bucket of dog shit. Hopefully they have lifted their game but fk me that old one was horrible.
The american idea to create a chime for every alert on the dash board is fkn annoying, as were the non-standard globes throughout the vehicle... good luck changing a brake light!! haha.
Brake pedal also felt like you were pressing onto timber... hard, no feeling about what was happening beneith you.

Again - hopefully the new ones are alot better And if you say its better than a Grange - big call.

Outllander sports cause of all the kit i now carry. Gone is the Honda integera typeR limited edish, really miss it..Hence why I'm back on the bike after 15yr absence which I'm absolutely loving on the new ninge. Cant believe it took so long after a bad splash down.

With 100,000 k's on it the Grange felt like an old car, and really in terms of equipment for a $90,000 car was pretty ordinary.

Jeep were in partnership with Daimler-Benz for a while so I think they learnt a lot. The quality on the new ones seems pretty good and the level of equipment on the top line jobbies is impressive.

2007 Mitsubishi 380 Sports.

3 baby seats wouldn't fit into the back of the Lancer so we had to upgrade. They stopped making them just after we bought it so now it's resale value is shit . Next car will have 8 cylinders though, just because I can and every bloke needs a V8 at least once in their life.

I guess with the SSV, you get to race between petrol stations.....

nup....
highway use (not towing ) is around 8l/100kms ...and towing the race car it averages about 12l/100lm..all of which are very good for a modded 6ltr V8 !

Around town varies but filled it today... 35 litres for 270kms = 13 l/100km and most of that is stop start accelerate from the lights type driving
and thats pretty typical


it has a 75 litre tank so refills are infrequent

the two I have had have been sensational, comfy ...leather climate, useful with that space at the back
and they handle and go as good as the SSv sedans...which means they are not slow

+1 on the SSV's. If I didn't need a 2.5 tonne tow capacity I'd get an SSV wagon and option/mod it up (much better value than HSV's I reckon). When I had the SSV sedan I took a loan wagon when they first came out and the first thing I though of was that it felt no different to the sedan. I used to tow the boat with the SSV sedan but it was just too heavy for it. It would pull it alright but the downforce on the towball led to some interesting bottoming moments and it would rev it's arse off up hills. Towing the boat it run at 23l/100 . Other than that I was really happy with it. Got rid of it at 120,000 k's and it was like new and surprisingly fuel efficient running solo.

Dutchy's photos brought back memories.

My SSV was good but they arent worth a pinch of shit on the resale market. Lucky I didn't pay full tilt for mine or I would have been more pissed.

The brakes were also poo for towing. Needed an upgrade package if I kept it.
