Re: Bike stolen
I drove past and noticed a bike stopped at the emergency phone. Noticed it was a zx7 in green.
Remembered the stolen bike, so checked the pics on here, went back onto the m7 headed west. Noted pipe looked same and all
Colors matched.
So I got off motorway, and re-entered. Got to bike and an M7 breakdown crew had arrived, I noticed the number plate on the bike was hanging off only attached with one screw. I pulled up. Got out, and walked back saw the ignition barrel was smashed up and everything else looked right.
So I said this bikes stolen and he said no its not and frantically tried to get the bike running, I called the m7 guys to help and they weren't interested. So I dragged the bloke off the bike (which dislodged his helmet) and after a bit of a tussle rolled my ankle avoiding a hit.
He remounted and the bike fired, I tried to stop the bike by pulling something off it that would make it stop, but no key or anything. Couldn't find anything to stop it. But he took off up the m7 Without a helmet on.
So I took the helmet to the cop station and made my statement.
Coppers are pretty confident of getting DNA from hair in the helmet and hopefully getting a match.

Re: Bike stolen
Great effort to notice it and go back for him. Now he's probably think all the Kwaka bike riders know its stolen and they're out to get him.
Great teamwork!

Re: Bike stolen
Admins, is it worth having a separate section on here for Public Notices with info on stolen bikes etc?
Getting the word out there obviously works, so I'd encourage the sharing of these things.

Re: Bike stolen
Great work mate...maybe he will think twice about stealing a bike in the future after he gets out of goal.

Re: Bike stolen
he was bigger than me, and without the help of 2 bystanders, it was an uphill battle to begin with. Ill happily stand back and let you take control if you like mate?StuMiller wrote:So you let him get away.....what about a citizens arrest and a black eye?

Sounds like you did well. It might make him think twice before doing it again.
