Drinking alcohol and riding a motorcycle, what a great combination. When I was younger, (and I don't mean last week) I tried that combination and all it did was give a shitty rider, (me) the confidence to do something stupider than I did sober. As far as the beer with lunch, I don't see a problem with that other than all police are not equal. Most occifers of the law are good people and follow the proper proceedures when processing a DUI suspect. Then there is the occasional policeman who is on a quest for whatever reason and will do everything in his or her power do make sure anybody who drinks is put in jail. For example; I was camping at Capitol Reef National Park and a lovely Police Ranger saw me have a glass of wine with my lunch and waited until I got in my vehicle and stopped me, gave me a breath test and had me locked up. I beat the charge in court but the total cost was about $3500.00. Plus in Utah, (land of the mental midgets, me included) you automatically loose your driving priviledge for 90 days even before you are convicted, lovely. As earlier stated I will not drink while riding a motorcycle as I'm stupid enough sober, I can't and don't want to imagine what I would do drinking. Cheers and have a Jim.
