Was he now

, he has wanted to join the collective for a while now

....why dont we have a "Borg" emoticon

I don't know if it's upgrading or going backwards or sideways, but I'm seriously thinking about going from the 10 to a Z1000. Just not sure which model would be best for me. Need more research and test rides.

Everyones getting naked these days Leanne, come and join the fun.
I'd say that you would be best on the Gen III Z

, its got the sportsbike hardware, just not sitting position. The older ones still have a spine frame

Which year model is that? Nelso also mentioned that there's a Ninja type Z or something like that might be suitable for me. I don't want the sports, really bent over, type of position as my back isn't coping with it on long rides. It's taking weeks after a long ride for my back to come good even with physio and chiro, that's the only reason I'm considering moving from my 10 to something like this, but I still want to be able to hook in and have a good play which I think the Z will still let me do, just like I used to be able to on my VTR1000 Firestorm but getting one of them again is not an option.

I'm talking 2010 + zed, Nelso may be refering to the Ninja 1000. Bars are a little more "tiller" like than the z. The z would feel a little more sporty, but the Ninja has a full fairing. I'd say try them both and see which you like better.
Pity there is no ZRX1400R for you to try

Yeah, it's the gen 3 Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 that I sugested to her. It will come down to getting the right money for Leanne's 10 and then picking which one she prefers after riding them both. I think the Z1000 will most likely get the nod.
She also rode the ZRX the other day and didn't hate it like the last time she tried it.

Thanks Hoffy,

I will definitely take you up on that offer maybe on the CDT if you don't mind whoring a 10. It has raised handlebars and lowered footpegs so you shouldn't have a problem with your height fitting onto it.
I don't plan on making the change till after then as I want to take my time and try the Z out to make sure it's the right decision. I also don't want to sell the 10 beforehand and then be stuck without a bike if one doesn't come up at the right price. I'm fairly certain that I will be struggling again on the long ride on the 10 as I did a two day ride just over a week ago with only 1/2 day riding each day and my back still is f@#%ed even after physio and chiro. I will just have to take lots of painkillers and do lots of stretching and a break now and then bike whoring to get me through the CDT.

I'd ride her bike for the twisty bits, but that's all.

There is a reason I ride a ZRX you know, there's no way I could ride a sports bike for any length of time; I struggle to make it to the end of a 20 minute session at the track FFS.
