I'm about to fit the Gazi's on my 'S' model. Now the instructions say that the lower 'eye' needs to have at least 12mm of thread inserted into the bottom end of the shock. After that you can adjust for height if you want. Since the total thread is only 15mm (and this is above the lock nut) that doesn't leave much room for adjustment? Any of you changed the height settings? Any pointers?

I've raised mine by about 5mm. Not sure about the length of thread though as I didn't put them on originally.

I have mine as long as they can be. Probably even a little too long with perhaps not enough thread showing!! Plus I have my eccentrics flipped. Once I sort the forks, they are going to get dropped through a touch too! Then it should be a right weapon!

Though I did not end up choosing Gazi's, from memory you could option/purchase extened eye's if req.
Don't know how much longer was available though, I guess it will depend on what length is req to make them fit the ZRX in the first place.

15mm below the locknut

60mm total above the locknut.

Total length: 84mm

Is the the one supposed to be supplied?

I emailed Paul at Gazi, but no reply.

They look the same as mine, but give me a sec and i will measure them for sure! Mind, they are fitted, so I can only measure approx eye to end of thread.......

Centre of eye to where the thread starts is 45mm approx...

I measured the shock lengths comparing the stock ones with the Gazi's and the Gazi's are considerably longer eye to eye even when the bottom mount is wound right in.

OK, that's good info. I'm doing the job today. That, and the Racetechs 1.0 I already have up front should make a big difference.

Yep, Gazi's are slightly longer than OEM. I had to take both OEMs out before I could hope to line up the holes on the Gazis.

Shit theres not a lot in that! few mm at best...
Do the Gasi have as much travel as the KYBs??

I can probably get another 5mm out of that.

Be intersting to compare the actual stroke of each, surely the Gazi's dont limit bump travel! I will be interested to see what you think of them on rough roads over there, Strika is of opinion they are much better, but he is in Vicco and Vicco roads are like SMOOTH, I am in NSW...our roads resemble 1970s MX tracks!

They decent quality, i would love to see the insides. Not sure about why such short body, i bet the same part number shock is used on a lot of different twin shock bikes with just mount changes. The Gazi must have the bump stop inside, wonder if my Rex ones have a bump stop under that cover on the bottom, external bump stop versus internal would allow shorter piston rod exposed,hmm...

ONe last thing, with threads, as a rule of thumb if your thread is say 10mm dia then you need a minimum of 5mm inside..make sense? So if your eyelet is 12mm dia you wouldnt want to lift the back any more than 6mm from when the thread is fully threaded home on the shock.
