Got a funny story to share about the juniorberger triple.........or *Little Lucifer* as it has now been christened !!
Took it out to a local shop on Sunday - the guy there is a supporter of
CanberraRIDERS - and he put on a bbq for us on Sunday, as well as $35 dyno runs for the forum.......same thing Tex did for KSRC a couple of years ago.
Anyway, I booked the 250/3 and the Black Pearl in for some runs.....
well, Little Lucifer did some interesting things to the 21st-century dyno and all its associated electrics !

Here is a direct quote from the owner......

We have now been made aware that the radio waves that were tampering with our dyno from the unshielded ignition system on Gos's old gem can actually spike the computer/hardware stack on the dyno which costs in excess of a big $10,000 dollars
We have equipment in the workshop to test future older bikes with unshielded ignition systems before they go onto the dyno... Sorry folks but not worth the $10,000 dollar risk...
Other than that little hickup we hope to see you all at our future dyno days and events.....
When we were all sitting in the front area of the shop, looking at the TV screens with the dyno room on one, and the dyno charts on the other - we could see lots of action on the computer, but not much on the dyno.....the 250 was kicked over a few times, then stopped.......heads being scratched.........apparently the USB hub was shitting itself.....Brett (owner) was getting all sorts of weird error messages on his computer......temperature variations in the dyno room from +14deg to -8deg in the blink of an eye

dyno temp too cold - that sort of stuff.....
Well, they cranked up the 250 a couple of times, and the blue haze in the room looked great from where we were sitting

- mmmm pre-mix R30 goodness.......anyway, after 1 good run on the dyno, Brett pulled the pin......and the jokes about the little 250 breaking his dyno were being cracked everywhere - it was pretty funny out the front - but we had no idea how close to the truth this was !!!!
Brett described the temperature sensor going haywire, amongst other issues - but when he got the message on the computer that said *Error - Dyno drum* - he thought the day was finished !!
All this caused by the 3 little sets of points going apeshit at 9000rpm !! well all your new-age computer gadgetry just took a massive shit at the amount of unshielded electrical interference pouring out of the 250's engine cases.......
Here is the dyno chart. That power curve is starting at around the 4-4.5k rpm mark, not much happens below that....
Brett reckons that a second run would have shown at least 27hp. Not bad from a bike that is almost 40 years old.......stock hp figures were 28 or 32, depending on which manual you are looking at. They were crank figures as well...
So there you go - Little Lucifer ( or as Brett called it - the devil bike) - almost fried $10k worth of dyno with its *massive* 26hp !!
I so can't wait to get this bike out racing later this year - it is heaps of fun to ride.
