I'm not sure why you think this was brought up by a new member.?
It wasn't, hence me asking for other opinions..

But - is it possible new members won't join or contribute because of it...???
We have changed the name and its not that obvious what it is.. is it.??

Discuss. :-)

Has anyone ever seriously complained about it? I'd be surprised if they did because it's too obscure I think. It's just like our version of the little smiley face that's been dragged through the mud a bit.

Yes, and it is one of the reasons they have left the site.. There has also been others who commented, but they haven't left (that I know of)..
and no it is not a new member, they have been here for quite some time - well before the Kuda..

keep the kuda
should the small minority of people change everything??
95% of people viewing it would not think of it as its sister meaning...
4% of people viewing it & know the meaning of it, couldn't give a s*#t about it....
0.0002% of people viewing find it offensive....
the rest viewing it...dont even think about it..

Is this a correct idiology if the "green wave" ??
:kuda:

If it is a member who had been here before the kuda, perhaps it was a bad idea to have let the kuda adorn so much merchandise in the first place.
Not that im complaining, i think it actually represents us quite well (not too serious about the whole thing).

Something is only offensive if you let it be. The kuda is never used on this site to attack anyone, it is usually a sign of respect or admiration. What difference does it make what the physical symbol looks like if the intent of using it is nothing but positive?

Keep the kuda - it's become part of KSRC culture and a way to recognise members :kuda:

An option is to become one of us cool Trekker nerds and go for the Spocker!

Madkaw - how many would be unhappy if it was removed? You can't please everyone and if you try, you end up pleasing no one.

I think it is a fair question to ask, I didn't know that is was an offensive gesture until it was pointed out to me (sheltered life), so I never associated it with that version. I thought and believed it was owned by KSRC.

I think those that find it offensive need to understand the gesture and association it has, that for most there is no malice

Either way, I'll be leaving the Kuda sticker on the back of the LC...I like the idea that people see it when I've just passed them :kuda:
