The Ninja 250 is advertised at $3500 US on the US Kawasaki Site
Thats $3900 Aus..

The 08 ZX10r is advertised at $11550..
Thats $12850.. Aus
A big difference to the $18990
We always get ripped off on bikes in this country
Wonder what it cost to get it shipped here, plus paperwok....
I bet its still cheaper.

I reckon Kawasaki are just pitching their producst at around the same levels as their competitors...

How much is a R1/CBR/GSXR by comparison. They'll all doing it!.

I could've convinced my friends to ditch the scooter idea if the 250 had been under $6k on road - even at that price it's still well above the US $3500...

So why is the ZZR still on showroom floors for 7900 - 8100?
They aren't that good.

if we move 10,000 a year ...and they move 100,000 a year..then they will get better prices...

Well I sat on the new Ninja 250 tonight, it looks even better in the real !!! I saw the dyno charts for it also, it makes less peak power than the GPX but it makes ton's more midrange, trust me dude's, this bike will out accellerate other 250 fourstrokes on the street because no one cruises at 14,000 rpm, this thing will punch on from 5 or 6 grand.

And take no notice of the quoted higher seat height than the GPX, with the narrower seat it was easier to put your feet on the ground, a lady friend of mine sat on the bike also and she confirmed the same feeling.

But I change gears when I want to race. Mid range is for Harleys and automatics.
Although the 9 krpm starts at lights do sometimes lose their novelty.

I called Kawasaki today after your call to me, it seems that Kawasaki Australia may have realised their mistake in not bringing green Ninja 250's into Aust, there is a hint that green may make its way here sometime in 2008.

I was looking at these and also thinking that I wish they were around when I was starting out. 8)

Very nice looking 250! Prior to these the only 250 that looked sporty was the Hyosung.

The decision to bring only red and black to Australia was made over a year ago with the idea of keeping buyers interested in the bikes into the second year of production without any other changes to the machine. It seems like flawed reasoning but is actually a good marketing strategy. Imagine bringing green and black in the first shipment, (arguably the two hottest colours, (although the blue is the one that winds my watch)), the next years colours will not sell as easily as everybody will want what is no longer available. We are all aware that some colours sell better than others, and the decision was made that blue and red would be the slowest sellers here in Australia therefore they should be coupled with a presumably more popular colour when released. Blue and green WILL be available in Australia in the future and I am betting that there will still be some red bikes on the floor when they get here! Does any of this make sense? It's been kinda hard to put into words without typing my marketing thesis again!!!!!

I could never understand why Kawasaki never brought out the 04 / 05 zx10r in the blue.
They had it in the states and was the best looking of the lot, instead we got titanium..  ;)

With the hyusong gt 250 currently the biggest selling 250 road bike, Kawasaki had better sharpen there pencil on the pricing.
