the z1000 i rode only had 800k's on the clock, that may have had summat to do with it - must swap with the wattster next time he joins us in the backyard for a jaunt........
basically, zrx's are NOT sensible, zx9's are bloody great and the z1000 is a combination od both.
mate i didnt believe the "motor will loosen up" shit when i got my bike, and i was dissapointed for the 1st 900 or so km that it ws nowhere near as smooth or powerful as the 929...
then i put the cans on...
then i did HG...
now its got 3000km on it its loosened a shitload...it made a huge difference....

no, more k's not HP......BTW all dyno's are different, Tex (O'Grady - dyno operator and motorcycling legend) said his would read on average 10 Hp lower than a dynojet dyno, not to mention different conditions and all that hoo haa.......
anyway, i dont care how many i've got, its more than enough when there's white cars with flashing lights all over the place

Tex O'Grady ?? he is a wild man alright, I met him a few years ago at an EC meeting, I can't remember what meeting, but he was racing there with the BEARS guys, on a Motoplat GSX1100 or something like that ???.......pretty funny guy to talk to....haven't seen him since that meeting, but he was one of those people that you just *don't* forget....

1st time with 1000km on the odo. ran 11.2
2nd time with about 5000km on the odo, 11.1
and then about 20,000 km on it i ran a 11.001
wattie was one pissed off puppy. no 10sec...
You have one very good Z1000 I suggest

. Of the 2 I have seen run, one with a approx 80kg rider, std bike, pulling high 11.3's - low 11.4.'s The other with pipe's, PC III etc, running 11.2's with approx 70kg rider.
A ZX9 with approx 85 kg rider ran 10.7's.
