To be very honest mate, two local bike dealers here I used to always go to. When I was looking for a bigger bike I couldn't get any service at all. It took me 4 times to go into the local Kwaka dealer even though I was a regular there before they would even let me sit on a bike. The local Yamaha dealer was worse. Then when I went to buy Diane's bike for her I had to chase someone up to come and serve me and it was amazing how many people wanted to once they knew you had cash there and then to spend. Difference to I found with RR is that I had never met any of them down there just asked Kris via email if we could use is bikes for the photo shoot and he said yes. He brought over 2 bikes.
Funny, is that the kawa shop on dandenong road, just before lonsdale?
They were of great assistance to me when I went in there, however, they did quote a ridiculous ammount for a major service.
I think they said somewhere around 800+ parts and more if the shims needed doing.
So I didnt go back

Yes I am talking about Sharp Tune,, I didnt want to mention names but I didnt

I was ALWAYS very loyal to them to the point I NEVER shopped any where but there and looked no where else for anything. When it come to getting centre stand spring I kept getting the wrong one. They wouldnt give me my money back so I went to RR who helped me and I had it in 2 days. THEN when I was looking for a new bike I wasnt even able to sit on one till I went in the 4th time. As I said I had always shopped there BUT after seeing how much extra I paid for my clothing and Helmet soon got me thinking THEN when it come to changing my chain and sprockets was told one price over the phone then when I went to pick them up was told a whole new price. He always gave us discounts due to RideTek but he said unless I present a VIP card no discounts. So after a year of shopping there and only there why wasnt I given a VIP card

Once, before a lot of you guys were *born*, SharpTune was the best place in Melbourne to get a tune-up. So the guys from AMCN reckoned

- I wonder if Albert still runs the show .......

Well i can say i wont be going back there again.
I went there today for a RWC, i waited at the desk for 3min, why wo staff members chatted to each other and they could see me. As we made eye contact whikst i was approx 10mtr from them
I had pre booked my bike in.
I paid $66 for my RWC
Told them all the details they needed etc.
I was told it would 45min to an hour and they would call me when ready.
I left went to HQ to check mail etc
60min go by, no call so we head back there, check out PS
The go into ST around the 75min mark. Still no call.
I get served mention the no call factor, only to be told it was ready 45min ago
Then he can't find the RWC sheet, no the order for it.
Then i get the paperwork only to find they have put the wrong rego down!
Another 5min of waiting.

With my banners Idea.....
I think you guys focused on the wrong part of it...
Dont want banners... fine..... who cares....
Im talking about the fact that you get them to email you once a year to confirm that the discount still exists and to remind them that that deal is in there....
Thats all....

Funny you should say that..
Last week I e-mailed most of our sponsors who I have not heard from in the last 6 months or so to to confirm exactly that.
Most are still happy to be involved and are offering the same discount as noted..
I did not receive a reply from Brighton Kawasaki or RM Gear.
Race Replica confirmed there offer including priority servicing and loaner bike.
Z power, Superbike supply, B bomponents and M C Performance all confirmed.
Go bikes e-mail address bounced.???

We have the opportunity to have banner links on the web site, if it ever gets finished, but this will only be for those who offer discounts to members.
ATM, all the companies have to do is offer KSRC members a discount to be included in the sponsors thread. This also allows them to post offers and info to the club. It costs them nothing and puts them in front of hundreds of potential customers. Much better value than any other advertising they may do, me thinks.
Its a pity very few of them take advantage of it.
Not one of our sponsors have donated or payed KSRC
(or me personaly) anything for the them to be included and noted as a KSRC sponsor..(Rob from RT screen printing excluded

). Yet I have been offered real $ from other companies (generally non m/c) to be linked on KSRC.. None of which have been taken up...
The point of this thread is to find out if the Sponsor arrangement is of any value to members and should we keep it...? If so, who and why.?
I think that the Sponsorship is a real thing that members look for but I suppose it has to work two ways they have to see some return for what the sponsor, so having said that if they are getting free advertising in here then there is no onus on them to check to see if that advertising is returning business to them, so I suppose an idea is to charge a small fee so that this prompts them to monitor the amount of times the sponsorship relationship happens.
Just my 2c worth
