Ah frick, that sucks g-m, but still im gonna fight this as much as i can, dunno what good it'll do me though.
At the very least if i get out of this in one peice im going to go up three teeth on the back sprocket.... Won't stop the stupidity on my part, but will at least make it a little slower

.
If i make it out in one peice (i.e. with license) i'm seriously considering starting to do those superbike schools and then just going to trackdays in the slow group and getting rid of any hints of the "fast bug" there.
Oh and being a grandma on the road ain't that bad, got to work only about 5 minutes after i would have had i been a, ahem, hoon.
To rub the point in dad called me today askin if i wanted to go watch the bathurst race with him and some mates, i think i might just not go and save myself the embarrasment of discussing this whole issue

.

i know how you feel mike
im 2 weeks into mine and it sucks
but im sure someone has said this, but you cant choose to do 12 month probation its an automatic.
if it was available i would of done it.
take it asap as the longer you leave it the worse it is as you know its coming up and you just want it to be over

well i looked on the
rta website, if you loose all your points you go 3 month suspension
or 12 months 1 point. However i had the speeding fine which has a 3mth suspension too, so im *hoping* that i may be able to wrangle getting just a 12mth 1 point rather than 3 months no license (doing both suspensions simultaneously) or 6 months walking (serving them one after the other).
However reading the above, it seems conviction of speeding 30-44 is a possible mandatory 3 months walking (but as the rta site disclaims, it's just a guide). Everything is so contradictory though, The copper did say i could apply for a probationary license, however i don't know how much he was screwing with my head (he didnt seem to be a typical HWP ass though, seemed a decent guy).
So we shall see what a lawyer says.
If i was lucky enough to get something resembling the grandpa simpson license, yes it'd shit me off, but id happily drive as little as i had to, and be a grandpa behind the wheel for a year, and take the bike out for a blow-the-cobwebs out run thru the natio every 2-3 weeks (on the weekdays wouldnt be stupid enough to take it out on the weekend).
This stuff is just too damned complex to assume one thing or another, as the cruel sea song said "
Better get a lawyer son" (also stolen by the rta anti drink driving campaign)....

Hand it in, you have already proven you cant hold one on 12 points so how the hell are you going to last 12 months. Like Hemi said, they can take theat one point for ANYTHING, pipe, not carrying your licence, numbert plate, rego, that little mono or burnout... THEN you WILL be wallking for 12 MONTHS.
Shout yourself a trackie/ASS half way through on the saved money
Just how much of a good boy do you think you are ? I know I am
not, I went for the 6month suspension.
I had 22 points up, what the hell did you
do to hand it in for 2 years Meanie ???

That's a pisser Mike.
If it were me I'd go the single point but my circumstances are different ie I live at Kellyville and work at Milperra, plus with kids etc no car would pretty well screw me big time.
In your case though, if you can get to work by Public Transport do that and get yourself a pushy for the local stuff and cop the three months.
At 30 over though is probation an option? I thought 30 over had nothing to do with points but was simply an automatic 3 months, you then wear the points when you get your license back.

A bit of a story mate lets just say involved a dangerous driving charge + excessive speed etc etc. Possibly looking at appeal(try n downgrade to 1year).

It will be all over soon then you won't have to worry about 2km/h over or any of the bad habits you have obtained

Put it up for a vote for Mike

yea its an ass raper mate...i got 2 months to go if they honour my time, or 4 if they dont..ive served 4 mth already....
dunno how it works there, but here if u lose ur licence for a offence like that, when u get it back ur on a probationary for 12 months after.... so check that out ( the 1 yr 1 point thing is only for accumulation offences)...
id go the 3 months if i could... mind u , i lasted 9 months into my 12 month period...

Well got a response back from that lawyer, its an automatic 3 month walking holiday, no if's but's or maybe's. However i replied back mentioning that i forgot to mentioni i've got a 6 pointer on the horizon too which would get me to zero.
I've asked what'll happen then, 3 month suspension (could it be served simultaneously to the other 3months walking? or would it likely be afterwards), Then there's the whole option of the 12 months with one point.
Of the two i'd rather do the suspension and disqualification simultaneously.
Looks like i'm not going to go get the RF comprehensively insured anytime soon, which is a shame..... *UNLESS* i get the insurance before the suspension kicks in?

:idea::idea:.
Oh and Hemi, i was thinking of something like getting a 250cc dual purpose bike and using it for commuting, or just sticking to the car.
Oh and Glen, as i said, thank f*k i can get transport to work, otherwise i'd be royally up the shit.

Goddamn, Sydney harbour coppers are doing some serious fucking fundraising this week. First the pinging on sat, then on the way home this morning from nightshift last night i was in a T2 transit lane, when asked why i was by myself in a transit lane i said i just did a nightshift and thought it was safest to just get home as quickly as possible.
Well that worked well as i've got a fine here for another 179, im surprised they didn't try hitting me up for some goddamn points too. Mind you the distance between the two events physically was no more than, uhm, 3km, maximum.
[end rant]
**then again it might be them ramping up a week before the double demerits period on next weekend**
