Here's a shot of the award ceremony, just out of shot is the red carpet, the paparazzi clambering for photo's and the adoring public scrambling for autographs....or something like that. Well done Phil and Gos. The beast certainly attracted some attention

Here is another, for those of you who dont know, they gy second from the right knows a thing or two about racing bikes ;) and the guy on the far left donated parts.

Spreaking of Keith, has anyone heard how he is? I heard he ahd a compound fracture of his ankle. If thats all he got after "that" crash I'd say he got lucky - faaark it was fast. Looked extra nasty from where I saw it

Oh wow, what a shot. (l-r). Keith Higgs, President of PCRA (get well soon, Higgsy), Gos, me, Malcolm Campbell and my identical twin brother, Paul, who came along to lend much valuable support on Saturday. This one's going straight to the pool room. :kuda:

A post from his girlfriend Wendy on his facebook a few hours ago says he was going into theatre and both his ankles were fractured badly, one was getting done today and the other maybe tomorrow.

Thanks Mick, he hit the wall hard, I'm glad he got off with 2 fractures, bad ones it sounds like but it looked really bad from where I saw

what a sensational weekend that was !!!! :kuda: :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:

- on top of MickLC picking up 2nd in his class at one of the biggest historic race meetings on the calendar in Oz, and Stace making her debut and achieving some excellent lap times on the RGV - we managed to get some laps in on Saturday with a living legend of GP and domestic racing - the Croz - as well as pick up a couple of trophies in the Show'n'Shine on Sunday.

The bike looked fantastic, ran well without any issues, was appreciated by hundreds of onlookers on both days - and had the original owner and builder Kent Miklenda taking a zillion photos (can't wait to see these !!)

Thanks heaps to Phil for letting me be part of this project, I had many moments where I got cranky as hell while doing the build, because of the custom nature of many of the little parts which make the bike up - but in the end, the result far surpassed anything that has ever come out of the 4th Dimension in the past !

Paul Campbell from Redback Race Paint must take a great deal of credit for giving the bike a magnificent paint job.
Greg Roberts for re-building the original wheels - these really look the goods
Alan Beavan for all his work with the pin-striping and signwork. He did up a story about the 'Fax on a sandwhich board, which had many people stopped in their tracks to read.
Ed Hazaar from California for donating the carbies (29mm smoothies no less :P ) and a Dyna ignition system
Chris Dowde for re-engineering the original Moto Martin swingarm
John "laidback1952" for his donation of the Moto Martin fairing
Dave "Gpz750turbo" for his donation of the Kerker exhaust
Higgsy for his donation of lots of engine bits (get well soon mate)
and a lot of other punters who all helped with various things - goodonya boys :kuda:

Unsurprisingly - like any race bike  - there is still some work to do on the 'Fax. RAPID mag will be doing an article on the bike in the near future, so the bike will be left well alone until the photos and story is complete.

I have a few photos of my own to download, will put them up shortly. Kent took literally hundreds, hopefully these will be on a disc and down here in a week or 2. Lech Budniak from PCRA took an absolute corker of the Croz & Goz show in pit-lane  should be the basis of a good caption comp down the track a bit...

Was also great to catch up with the usual suspects at any meeting like this - Stevie Kairl who will shortly have the track record in the 125cc P5 class at every venue in the southern hemisphere , Phil who was pitting with his mate from SA, Marksesh - great to meet you mate - Nelso & Leanne, I think the racing bug has bitten those 2 pretty hard now  , Glenno who came out on Sunday (thanks for those shocks mate, they will look great on the '77 Z1000) and also Whickle who did a great job in the tower and in pit-lane, Ducati Paul who was flagging for both days.......

Now - down to some work on my own bikes ! 2011 has been mental for bike-action so far, in terms of this bike and race meetings, events etc. I have a Z1000A1 to re-build as quickly as possible to put on historic rego, the 250/3 needs a bit of paint.......and that GPZ1000RX needs some lovin' as well......

winter should pass pretty quickly methinks.....plenty of time in the 4th Dimension for me......you can find the 4th Dimension in the larger Gosmos..... (thanks PC for that gem)
