Looks awesome, top job.
I don't know if it's the angle of the photo's, but is the steering head angle a bit steeper than a standard Z?

Phil already has a project bike lined up !!
I have about 6. I really need to get moving on the GPZ1000RX, as this is a bike I am hanging to ride - it will be the bike I ride on the CDT for next years Superbikes.
YZR750 - I am not sure if the steering head angle was changed, but I was actually thinking the same thing the other day - in some of those profile shots - especially from the r/h side - the steering angle does look quite a bit steeper than a stock Zed......the triple clamps are all custom-built but the offset looks the same as the stock clamps.....maybe Kent would know ? Hopefully I will be able to ask him this weekend.....

thanks Steve - it looks even better in the flesh mate. But you need to be over 6' to ride it !! Its like one of those amusement park ride-hight rules, except in reverse

if you do throw a leg over, you will enjoy it very much
I cut my teeth on things like it, just not so cutting edge Gos, So I will probably feel quite at home on it.
I hope one day Phil might let me have a ride. Its not everyday you get to ride a peice of history...

OK here are the last photos I will be uploading prior to the Barry Sheene.
Shadowfax was based on a Z1R, which was fitted with a rear disc brake. But weight-saving measures meant that an old H2 rear hub was used, which was fitted with a drum brake. Normally, the old drum brake on the H2 / Z1 was operated by a long brake rod attached directly to the rear brake lever. For this bike, the design was changed to a cable-operated drum. These look heaps sexier than a rod !!

.
The design and build of the original cable operation was still good, the only thing missing was the modified drum brake hub that requires an additional bracket to locate the rear of the cable - this is needed to make the brakes work.......
I made up a small bracket last week, and our local Tig guru - Peter Pulford - welded it up for me yesterday.
Here are the before-and-after shots of the job. I wanted it to look like the bracket was OEM and cast into the hub.......looks OK but not perfect - I am sure we can live with that....
As it came out of Pulfords workshop
After some work with the dremel, a grinding stone and a flapwheel.....
After a bit of time on the polishing wheel.......
This drum will be sorted out on Friday, when I get the rear wheel back from Hal with a new tube fitted. Then we will have an operating rear brake so the bike can be scrutineered (if needed) to do some demo laps at the BSFOS.
Not long to go now !
